This is a review of the first draft of the Green Lantern script. Keep in mind that I only read the first draft of the movie script, and not all the things in the script will make it to the movie. I will try my best not to spoil the movie.

Characters:

The characters of this fil are written extremely well, and the writers give us a real good look at who the caracters are. Our main character, Hal Jordan, is an great read, from begining to end. He is shown as the flyboy who can easily read someone. Sinestro is also written well, and protray as an leader more than a villan, which makes a lot of sense considering this is an orgin film.

For characters this script gets a 10/10.

Story line:

The plot of this movie is GREAT! Well that is in till the end. There are some inconsistencies, but I expect that they will be worked out by time the movie is released. But one great thing that come from said inconsistencies is actually written in the scipt. "(Fanboys oragasm appropriately)", lets just say they will. I think Geoff Johns did when he read the script, and I think Big GL fans will probably have a heart attack. IT IS EPIC!

Story line gets a 8/10, only becuase of the small inconsistencies that I love to pick apart, but I'll have to wait till the movie comes out :(.

Cameos:

The cameos are great. But this also makes me wonder why they had to cut the Superman one. It wasn't really nothing, and since its already been cut I can release it here.

"Past a glass wearing reporter for the daily planet"

But thats not the cameo that makes the cake. The cameo that makes the cake is that one of the other 3 Green Lanterns is actually considered for it. The ring passes him twice, almost choosing him but then feels Hal Jordan. (Is that a spoiler)Lets just say that theres not just one human Green Lantern in this film, it'll all make since after you see the movie.

Cameos get a 10/10

The script in all gets a 9/10.

Now on to the trailer for the movie. Sadly, if you ask me the trialer gives the script little justice and actually scares me. The trailer is not the for this script! This script is so good, but the trailer ignores the WHOLE THING! The first scene in the trailer is Hal waking up to an alarm with a pretty woman beside him. Yes that scene is kind of funny, but not as funny as the scene is written in the script. That scene specificly relates to the later scene in the trailer when he is being jumped, but the script connects the two way better than what the trailer shows of the movie. Another change is the role Carol Ferris. In the trailer its clear that she knows who Green Lantern really is, but in the scripts its not till later till she learns it. I believe the scripts version of her is way better. There are many more changes, but I wont go into details on them.

In the end I feel that the movie, if made right, can become one of the best Comic Book Movies of all time.

considering that they put Nolan on the new Superman movie, i think thats all the explanation we need as to why the Clark Kent/Superman cameo got scrapped.

Nolan has been very adamant that both his Batman movies, and now the SUperman movie take place in their own worlds, with no other heroes. This is the reason we won't see a united DC movie universe. At least not with Bats and Supes.

Nolan is the man and all, but if using him holds back a united film universe, then i say get someone else.
