Guardians of the Galaxy has had its press screenings and world premiere, and while none of the early screenings have included the after-credits scene they do feature a short one after the initial cast credits. The after-credits scene is being saved for release to preserve the surprise, which made the mid-credits one a fun bit fans of the comic characters will love.
As it spoils what happens to a character in the movie, be aware it is a major spoiler for what happens to one of the characters: Spolier! Spolier! Spolier! Spolier!
Comic fans know that Groot can be completely destroyed but come back to life as long as a splinter of him is still around for someone to plant in a pot. In the movie Groot sacrifices himself to save the rest of the Guardians, and the mid-credits scene is of baby Groot dancing in a pot to the Jackson 5′s “I Want You Back”.
Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro, Guardians of the Galaxy is set to be released on August 1st.
