Back during San Diego Comic-Con, The Walt Disney Company officially announced plans for a new Guardians of the Galaxy-themed ride at the Disney California Adventure Park and showed off a few early deisgns of what the final ride, which would be housed in a monumental recreation of The Collector's Fortress, would ultimately look lke.

Yesterday, the Disney Parks Blog released a pretty neat video showing off a highly detailed new model, created by Walt Disney Imagineering, of the upcoming attraction, which will soon replace the Hollywood Tower Hotel. They go on to promise that everything you see on the model will be replicated in full scale as the Disneyland team work diligently over the next few months to bring The Collector and his secrets to Earth-1218.

Mission: BREAKOUT! will be an all-new experience, with an original story that combines "the familiar, breathtaking free-fall sensation with all-new visual and audio effects," including music from the film's soundtrack. Additionally, guests will get to enjoy a handful of randomly-selected ride experiences, meaning a rider will never really know which adventure they'll be strapping in for.

The ride is expected to open summer 2017, stay tuned for more details in the coming months.

Such an awesome scene. As a kid I always assumed the guy with a ponytail was Australian.
