New GOTG VOL. 2 Action Figure Gives Us Our Best Idea Yet Of How Kurt Russell Will Look As Ego

While we await our first look at Kurt Russell as Star Lord's papa, this Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 toy gives us a pretty good idea of how the character will be depicted in the Marvel sequel...

We've seen the costume and the Funko POP, but we've yet to get a glimpse of Kurt Russell's live-action take on Ego the Living Planet as he'll appear in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Though that reveal is probably not too far off, in the meantime Entertainment Earth has debuted a first look the Ego action figure alongside his estranged son, Peter Quill (Chris Pratt).

The figure was unveiled at Toy Fair New York late last night, and is the best representation of the character we've seen up to this point. Whether Ego will actually take on his "Living Planet" guise in the film remains to be seen, but I'd say it's a safe bet. Can't wait to se that action figure.

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

I think the entire Ego concept will be similar to the concept of the Wizard of Oz.

I have a lot of Marvel Legends, but the figures based on movie characters are always a bit off. But, damn it, it's Kurt Russell! In Guardians of the Galaxy! Eh...maybe I'll just get the Pop! fig.
