GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Villain Confirmed To Return For VOL. 3

Director James Gunn has revealed that at least one of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's villains will return for Vol. 3. You'll want to stop reading now if you've not seen the sequel yet...

Ayesha and the Sovereign are secondary villains to Ego the Living Planet in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but they all make quite the impact in the sequel and it's clear that will be the case for Vol. 3 as well. That's because one of the after-credits scenes sees Ayesha creating a being called "Adam" who she intends to use to destroy the Guardians. You shouldn't need us to tell you that's Adam Warlock!

In a recent chat with IGN, writer and director James Gunn confirmed that he intends on bringing Ayesha back, something we probably all expected to be the case, but it's good to know it will happen.

"I absolutely plan on bringing Elizabeth Debicki back. She’s actually one of my favourite actors I’ve ever worked with. I think on this movie between her, Pom Klementieff who plays Mantis, and Chris Sullivan who plays Taserface, they really were three of the best actors I’ve ever worked with and were all such a joy on this film to deal with that I would love to deal with them again."

It's going to be interesting to see how Ayesha and Adam factor into Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, especially as the latter is best known for being a hero in the comic books. Debicki receiving more screentime will be no bad thing, of course, while Adam's introduction in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is long overdue. It's just a shame that it won't be happening in time for Avengers: Infinity War

@SuperCat - some like it more than the first, some like it less than the first, personally I have them on par and loved both. There are very few who didn't at least like it, so i think you're in for a treat

@ForceOfLegend - I'm really surprised that some people felt the emotion was forced. This was the first cbm that actually made me tear up

@jamesdnyc - i agree! I had to really fight back against crying. "He may be your father, but I've always been your Dad." Hit me as hard as One Punch Man.

@ForceOfLegend - there was a few scenes that got to me. I think it was the worst when all the ravangers show up to the funeral

@jamesdnyc - i agree my friend! I kind of knew they would show up...by Sly saying he would never have Ravenger colors fly at his funeral...I saw the writing on the wall, and knew they would show up and pay their respects.

I'm guessing Magus will be the main villain then. Hopefully Stallone and the original guardians come back too.
