Hellraiser: Revelations made its debut trailer not too long ago and fans of the previous films are very upset with it. A lot of people feel it is an insult to the diehard fans of the franchise and to the original, Clive Barker. Clive let it be known on his Twitter.

“Hello,my friends. I want to put on record that the flic out there using the word Hellraiser IS NO [frick]IN’ CHILD OF MINE!” “I have NOTHING to do with the [frick]in’ thing. If they claim its from the mind of Clive Barker,it’s a lie. It’s not even from my butt-hole.”

Wow! Clive is very pissed as you can see. I don't blame him for being so angry. He build this franchise from the ground up with his blood, sweat, and tears to give the horror fans something to love. To this day, it's still a popular franchise. I think it's stupid that they have to use his name to associate with this film purely to keep the franchise rights. I could understand his frustration because he doesn't want to give his fans the impression he lost his step to his movies or he just doesn't care anymore. I'm not mad at the filmmakers for this because they only had a budget of like $300,000 and only 12 days of shootings. So this was a last minute project. Matter of fact, I feel very sorry for them because the fans are going to bite their heads off. I do think Dimension films is ridiculous for doing this, but I guess they have no choice to. Frankly, this is a pretty bad business decision on their part because I do feel that this is a spit in the face to Clive Barker and all of his followers. Come on Hellraiser in Mexico? Give me a break! On the flip side, we will have a better remake or sequel with a bigger budget and flashy special effects.

Even though this movie is going to look like a low budget, independent film, I will still see it. More than likely, on DVD or VOD. I will by my movie ticket when the better version comes out. I watched one Hellraiser movie when I was a child, but I barely remember it. So I guess I need to catch up on the Hellraiser franchise before I stick my two cents in.

The Hellraiser movies were never that good to begin with. The first one is okay, but forgettable. The rest of 'em were shit.
