AS WE ALL KNOW MARVEL ALREADY PISSED ALOT OF FANS OFF BY NOT BRINGING BACK NORTON! BUT ALOT OF OF US ARE ACCEPTING RUFFALO AS OUR NEW BANNER

As we all know marvel already pissed off alot of fans by NOT BRINGING BACK NORTON! But a lot of us have already begun to accept Ruffalo as our new BANNER, BUT JUST BECAUSE THEY CHANGED BANNER DOES NOT MEAN THEY NEED TO CHANGE HULK!! Marvel will really mess up the whole movie universe that they are trying to portray by linking all there upcoming movies if they do KEEP THE HULK'S APPEARANCE THE SAME AS 2008 INCREDIBLE HULK!! This is really bugging me and having me worried! Its not gonna change the fact if I will watch the AVENGERS or not cuz what fanboy could say no to one of the greatest CBMs COMING UP, but still it will be quite disappointing if we don't get the same CGI HULK. So what do u guys think? Do you agree? I think Ruffalo looks a bit like the 2008 CGI HULK

*** I would put pics but this is my 1st post and I don't know how lol ****

Just so you know... Using ALL CAPS for the majority of an article is the quickest way to not be taken seriously.

I'm honestly not really sure of your point in this article though, because I, even as just a fan and not someone related to the movie's production, know that the answer to the question "will we be getting the same CG Hulk in The Avengers?" is a little bit Yes and No.

We will, because aside from making him look like Grey Hulk, you really can't change his appearance too much (the way he looked in Ang Lee's film was due to crappy effects, so I'm certain that Hulk will look as muscular, green, and "realistic" as he did in the Norton film).

We won't be getting the "same Hulk" however, because the facial features and body movements of the Norton Hulk were based on, you guessed it, Edward Norton. I don't see why it'd be such a big deal for Avengers Hulk, who is being played by Mark Ruffalo, to be based on Ruffalo's appeareance/movements. And I don't think there's any danger of someone sitting in the theater going, "Okay, I accept Ruffalo has taken over the role of Bruce Banner, but who the [frick] is this giant green guy?!?! It's obviously not the Hulk, because it looks nothing like The Hulk from the Norton movie!"

Agree with Contrast. Quality CGI, just as "realistic" as Hulk 08, but reworked for Ruffalo's features and body language, it only makes sense.

yea i know that they made hulk look like norton, but the point of my article is that marvel is making a universal based on there movies by linking them, they already change norton so, that already screws the 08 hulk movie already, but if they change how the hulk looks too they are basically counting out the 08 movie being link to the others. it is if they are rebootin , yea i know that hulk looks like norton but i dont mind and i dont think many fans will either,

i think marvel might make slight changes to the hulk, with the advances in cgi effects if they can make the hulk look more relistic they're gonna do it.

marvel studios, how about another hulk movie as well.

i personally f*cking love the hulk.
spider1489
spider1489 - 8/10/2010, 1:25 PM
yea i know they might do slight changes but i really hope it is mainly based of the 08 hulk

@deadpool72
yea i hope they make another hulk movie! he is AWESOME!
Stumblin
Stumblin - 8/10/2010, 1:40 PM
Well they based Hulk's muscular structure off of Lou Ferrigno so I don't see that changing much even Hulk's face hardly showed any similarity to Norton's they actually wanted to stay away from making the Hulk look too much like Norton.

Hulk's head in the movie is more squared off as opposed to Norton's narrow and long head, so I wouldn't worry so much about Hulk's appearance changing if anything he'll look better with the larger budget.

Next time you want to make an article take your time, because reading all this caps and words like "cuz" showing you're too lazy to really put any thought into your article makes me feel like you don't really value a response or really give a flying rat's ass. I don't care this is your first article that's no excuse to just shit out something that looks like it was sent from a cell phone.

@spider1489-- I'm not trying to be an ass or anything, but I still don't really understand how this is even an issue. I mean, personally, (even as big a Hulk fan as I am) I can find more pressing issues to worry about regarding The Avengers (like, Joss Whedon not being an incredibly experienced director, or our as-of-now lack of knowledge about the movie's villain[s] etc.)

Let's say, worst case scenario, that they somehow completely change Hulk's appearance, but still make him recognizable as The Hulk... That's almost exactly what happened with Batman. As I understand it, Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, and The Movie That Shall Not Be Named are all part of the same continuity. Not a single person was confused by the sudden change in Bruce Wayne's appearance post-Batman Returns, and even less were confused by the changes made to the Bat-suit. In fact, it seemed like More people were confused about whether The Incredible Hulk was a reboot or a sequel...

All in all, it just comes down to a commonality in the movie business-- Regardless of whether an effect/costume/prop is outdated or not, if a movie gets a sequel, chances are high that new props, costumes, and effects will be created, even if the costumes, props, and effects are exactly the same as they were in the previous movie. This is especially true with big budget movies like The Avengers, so, chances are, Hulk will look slightly different, but even with that, you've really got nothing to worry about.

by the way , i would fix the article to go to ur guyz standards but not sure how to edit it, sorry

well @ Stumblin i hope ur right about marvel not changing hulk because that is a real big issue im having right now with the avengers movie
Stumblin
Stumblin - 8/10/2010, 1:53 PM
Yes I do.

Though not necessarily being a dick, I'm keeping it real. Because that's what I do, I don't bull shit.

I'm sure he wont change too much considering they really wanted to move away from Ang Lee's baby faced Hulk at least we wont have to endure that monstrosity again.

i know we all have our own thoughts on the matter, well the reason why by changing the actor and the the cgi hulk really takes the excitment i have for the movie because the reason why im so excited about the AVENGERS movie is because how marvel is linkin the movies and using the same actors, i know sometimes it doesnt always work out but hey try to keep some things the same so it shows that it does reference to the 08 movie .

and batman is a good example because i really did not like forever, or batman and robin because they kept changing the actor and the costume,

remember everyone this is just my opinion, it is fine if you dont agree no need to get mad or offended by it we are all CBM FANS

@spider1489--

I get that it's your opinion, and I'm also excited about the movies sharing continuity.

I also agree about Batman Forever and That Other Film We Don't Talk About being terrible, although I blame the script and the director far more than I blame any of the actors... But it seems you've missed the point I was attempting (maybe unsuccessfully) to make using that example. My point was, even with a different actor, and a different costume, the characters in those two movies were still noticable as Batman, and as the same Batman that had previously been played by Mister Mom...

My main problem with the article, and this is just a bit of constructive criticism for your next one, is that you don't really seem to be making any kind of specific point. All the article says, really, is: "Ruffalo is playing Banner. Fine. I want the same Hulk as the 2008 movie, thought." You don't detail why you want it (aside from you "continuity" statement) or what you're hoping to avoid by keeping the design the same (such as, do you not want a repeat of Ang Lee's Hulk, or are you just opposed to any design changes whatsoever...?

Now, some of these things are clarified in the comments, but this is an Editorial. All the information we need should be right at the top of the page. We shouldn't be required to read supplimental material to figure out what you mean. That specific problem is a newbie mistake, so don't worry about it as much as the... bizarre use of CAPS, but be sure to keep it in your head for future articles.

i dont mind constructive critizim but it must be constructive not trying to put someone down, (this not purtain to you , i dont mind your constructive critizim)

i dont think you are understanding what my point is, yes no matter what if they change the hulk apperance it will still look like hulk( of course) but what my concern is i want the same CGI HULK be cause he is like changing the main actor frm a movie on a sequal. it is never as great as keep the same cast on each movie. it takes away the illusion that they are comming frm the previous movie...ummmm.. i hope that explans it, damn it i tried! lol

@ gambit:

you could be onto something there. Toby for Hulk if Ruffalo is out.

I don't think major changes will be made to the Hulk. Some updates, some tweaks and what not, but nothing like the changes between the two Hulk movies. And maybe with this guy as Hulk we will get a sequel or five...
RaMan
RaMan - 8/11/2010, 8:27 AM
The facial features and movement will very likely be similar to Mark Ruffalo's but the Hulk will still look similar and as impressive as the 2008 TIH, but to put it at ease in everyone's mind here is what IMDb posted regarding the Avengers movie with the Hulk's appearance:

IS THIS IN THE SAME UNIVERSE AS THE REST OF THE MARVEL STUDIO MOVIES?

Yes. From now on, all Marvel Studios movies are part of the same universe, one of the many parallel universes in the Marvel Multiverse. This continuity begins with Iron Man and continues with every future Marvel movie except for those that have already been made and owned by other studios such as Spider-Man (whose movie rights belong to Sony), the X-Men and the Fantastic Four (whose movie rights belong to Fox), and a few others that have come out over the last several years years. The movie rights to Iron Man, The Avengers, Thor, Nick Fury, Captain America and a few others all belong to Marvel Studios and because of this the continuity is possible. The movie rights to the Hulk, however, were originally owned by Universal, who produced Hulk. Marvel Studios won back the rights, and made a reboot The Incredible Hulk, which is in the continuity and this Hulk will appear in The Avengers (even if Edward Norton doesn't).

I'd like to see one of all the previous Marvel Studios movies directors working around the set of the Avengers. Not as directors, but just to make their presence felt, and to make sure they're not straying to far away from what they've originally done with the characters.

Also, I think they'll probably make a few small changes to the Hulks appearance, but nothing major.
spider1489
spider1489 - 8/16/2010, 12:36 AM
yea that would be coo! even it they had some cameos even like stan lee does! they deserve to be part of the avengers since they only directed the previous movies linkin them all together,

really hope nothing major is change on the hulk! (damn that move was so great ! i just finished watchin it again!! lol )

I know they motion captured Norton's facial expressions, however, the Hulk didn't really look like Norton to me. I mean the scar, and facial stubble does not equate total likeness.

@ SupermanReturns2

i agree, that is why i brought this dicussion to the plate, i know he does have some of nortons facial expressions but hulks look is pretty much orginal, i think raffalo's looks pretty similiar and they would not need to change much or anything at all except for improving on the visual effects.
