Iron Man 2 breaks The Dark knights record for widest released movie

When Iron Man 2 opens this Friday at 12:01 am it will break The Dark Knights record for biggest domestic opening for a movie in history. The old record was 4,366 movie screens and Iron Man 2 will open at 4,380 screens.

The big question is will this translate into the most money for a opening weekend ever. Some predictions are that the movie will open between $155 and $160 million. The Dark Knight holds the record for biggest opening weekend (money grossed) with $158.4 million. Mixed reviews,rottentomatoes.com has it at 65% fresh, might hinder it in the long run but should not hurt opening weekend to much.

I know that it will get my $40 this Saturday morning.

DC take note! Marvel movies CAN outdo The Dark Knight. Get your act together FAST!

Does this mean Marvel is catching up with DC??

The answer is No. They(marvel) have more films bust than succeed. Don't be so quick to crown their ass. :P

The movies that Marvel has done themselves have done
extremely well at the box office! They don't have
much control over the ones they sold the rights
for to SONY and FUX!

So yeah, Marvel is doing way better than DC, on
average! Heck Supes returns was one of the worst
written CBM's I've ever seen! Singer and the
scriptwriters screwed that one up royally!

And Batman Begins didn't do that huge of box
office either. TDK is the only one so far that
has been a huge blockbuster!

In my book that's 3-1! "NUFF SAID!"

"on average"... That's the key point.

"Supes returns was one of the worst written CMB's YOU ever seen!" There's another key point.

"Batman Begins didn't do that huge of box office either". When did financial success trump critical success??.. Wasn't that the downfall of Avatar?.. Oh, wait
