Iron Man 2 Trailer confirms another villain?!!

Some very interesting screens from the freshly released trailer. I joined CBM especially for being able to show ya this :P

Tonight I discovered that the Iron Man 2 trailer was released, which was a lot better than I expected, BUT... At a closer look, I think it may confirm the Mandarin's appearance, and maybe even something else...

If you pause it around 2:19, You'll get these shots:



See that Japanese-style gate behind War Machine? WHY would a movie featuring only Russian villains have a fight taking place in Eastern Asia in it? And wait, there's even more! Within that red gate, I see some vague red figure. The only things I can come up with is that we'll get to see Crimson Dynamo after all, or Fin Fang Foom is going red. Well, unless he's facing Satan or anything ;-)



If you zoom in on this one, you can also see light coming from the chest area.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if Whiplash isn't the final villain...

They just look like robots fight iron man to me but if crymson dynamo is in it :)

I don't know about a new villain or anything, but the East-Asian looking thing may be part of what's building up to the Mandarin in Ironman 3. Good find!

Yeah,Thanks for posting this.

I think they'll probally have a cameo from Mandarin.

But that Vauge figure in The back is Crimson Dynamo(Whiplash with an upgrade) cause you could see something red glowing in the middle.I guess thats his chest piece.

Too bad I can't edit the article, because I forgot to post another shot, in which light indeed seem to emanate from the chest area of the being so unfortunately obscured by all the damn smoke. Well, I always did find it weird that Whiplash' name was Ivan Vanko...

It might involve Mandarin, and he might have some small part in there, but I feel they would've released some type of actor who would play him by now on imdb or something.

i would love to see crymson dynamo,and fin fang foom if done right,like maybe mandarin is experimenting with human andimal chimeras and creates a living dragon like creature aka fin fang foom. it could work because it is possible in the real world but illegal. that could be interseting way to bring him in.

Cool! Supposedly Whiplash is a combination of two characters... Ivan Vanko so he will probably put on the Crimson Dynamo suit at the end of the movie!

@DogsOfWar: thx, must have been looking at the wrong page. @EvilEmperor25: You're right, that IS strange. Maybe because casting a Chinese guy would give them away inmediatly? Maybe they're just building up for number 3 indeed.

Well, they did have a action figure for Crimson Dynamo, but then again they had a Deathstroke action figure for the Dark Knight.

As far as the villain goes I think Justin Hammer will be the final one.Rockwell is the best choice for this role,can't wait!

i hope whiplash builds a bigger suit and becomes Dynamo, and save Mandarin for IM3. I'm pretty sure whiplah goes to Hammer for stronger weapons, so he gives him a stronger suit and an army of robots.

Is this what we are hoping for? the figure is Iron Man Heavy Artillery, but it looks like it screams Crimsan Dynamo:

Guys,Just saw IM again and guss what I found.

"A Man with a Dozen of these can rule all of Asia"
They were refering to the Mark 1,and in the trailer the bot's in the end look alot like Mark 1's.

And the 2 jets that were following Tony were named Whiplash 1 and 2.

So most likely this is probally a Mandarin Nod,and hopefully we'll see him in IM3

my theory:
ivan makes the origianl whiplash armor, but is then given the crimson dynamo armor by hammer in order to build continuity with the comics. then, hammer perfects the whiplash armor, so it doesnt look like crap as in the trailer. hammer is the real bad guy, the one that wasnt focused on though, like how two face was kept quiet to the public mostly and joker was promoted!

@riddle, i just remembered, Sam Rockwell was the looney prisoner in "the green mile," i think his name was billy, i cant remember. but yeh, i can see him pull off sumthin evil

he could be the real villian, i mean he is tony stark's worst rival. and i can see him just have an evil smile at the end......

i wished that you were right.

but i looked at that clip in 1080p video and that is one of those grey steel robots that Iron Man and War Machine are figthing off.

As for the structure in the background, I'm not sure but I don't think it has anything to do with Mandarin, wish it did.

no they are fighting in a oriental orchard and the gate looks asian as well. i think they are hinting at mandarin.you see the trees in the background they are some kinda asian blossom i think.

i think this is jumping to conclusions. it would not surprise me at all if crimson dynamo ended up being the big suit to fight at the end...but i don't see jack squat that looks ANYTHING like dynamo in this pic

the "figure" in the gate looks more like an etched design in the wood.

I do however agree with you about the whole Asia thing.
