From this picture we can assume that Whiplash maybe attacks Stark as he participates in the race, maybe as a way to introduce himself, and show Stark that he has a new competitor, and a new enemy.

Expect many more of these images and maybe even footage over the next couple days as Comic-Con gets into full swing.

I seriously hope they portray a good story on why whiplash is out to get Stark. Im tired of movies where the villian just starts attacking the main hero Just Because.

Whos coming to comic con Ive lived in san diego for 19 years and this will be my first year!!!!

I'm sure some CG work will go along with the rig Rourke was pictured in, but beyond that I'm assuming that his path is similar to Iron Man's; he'll probably get something much more impressive later in the film.

As far as his motivations are concerned, I'm with you SdProphet90. If he pulls a Green Goblin I'll be seriously disappointed. I suppose money could be a motivator, but it'll be nice if a personal angle is worked in.

ReikoLJ well in the picture of Whiplash, if you read the description, yes, the same technology Stark uses is used in the Whiplash suit. But that's how a lot of Iron Man's villains roll, even in the comics.

when i went to the link drewskii posted above, i realized that there are two different photos of the racing scene, the one above, and another one with him having more noticable wounds. then i took another look at the whiplash picture and realized he's at a racetrack. it was already obvious to me that stark would get attacked by whiplash at a race, but the fact that he was more cuts and scrapes in another picture, leads me to believe a battle occurs... sweet.
