Since the release of Justice League, many fans have been asking about the much debated “Snyder Cut” of the film. Fans are more interested in seeing Zack Snyder’s original vision, but is if even real? That’s the question.

We’ve come across several reports since 2016 claiming the Snyder cut is real, while others have come out saying there’s no such thing. A recent rumor even went as far as to say that for the past seven months, Zack Snyder has been finishing his cut of the film.

The idea is, since Snyder finished a rough cut of Justice League and then sent it off to Warner Bros., he would likely decide to finish his vision that was tarnished due to reshoots and a new director.

However, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice storyboard artist, Jay Oliva, came out with a stament to put all of these rumors to rest, well, at least for the moment.

“It’s Clickbait. Anyone who says they have “reliable sources” usually have it wrong. Whenever I site my source it’s pretty much from the person who I’m talking about. Whether it’s Zack, Geoff Johns, Patty Jenkins, Ben Affleck Taika Waititi, Kevin Feige, etc. it’s all firsthand,” according to Oliva on Twitter.

It should be noted that Jay Oliva didn’t say the Snyder cut is not real, he’s basically saying the famed director did not and is not working on finishing his version of the film. Furthermore, we should point out that in the past, Oliva did say there’s a Snyder cut.

"Other than incomplete vfx and maybe some reshoots for hookups everything was shot that was storyboarded," says Oliva. "Zack isn’t the kind of director who creates the film in the edit bay. It’s all planned out meticulously from beginning to end. That’s how MoS and BvS was done."

At the end of the day, fans should stop expecting to see the true vision of Justice League. It’ll likely find its way to the public eventually, but chances are, Warner Bros. may decide to hold on to it for years to come.

@BAK - jay oliva worked on both films and was supposed to work on snyders next 3 films too. he helped snyder plan his 5 man of steel films (mos,bvs,jl1,jl2,&mos2) that got scrapped.

he says all rumors about snyder working on his cut for the past 7 months without wb's approval is fake and clickbait. i trust him over some random fansite that broke the news.

@mastakilla39 - he did not say that. He confirmed the cut exists and commented that the clickbait material is from blogging sites like this one. Nothing official has happened but he fully knows what is going on. I was in on all of these Twitter discussions with him. That is how I know. This is VERY old news. Follow him on Twitter and find out for yourself.

@Kryptonick724 - there is no "complete snyder cut". i follow him and the conversation about the film. what oliva is talking about is the "assembly cut" Snyder showed to wb execs rumored to be about 4hrs. Assembly cuts have no cgi, missing dialogue, and uses storyboard art to explain unfilmed scenes. An assembly cut is incomplete and unmastered but as Oliva said it shows 90% of snyder's vision.

The snyder asesmbly cut is different from Donnor's Superman 2 and Ridley Scott's Blade Runner. 2 films that were complete, then got butchered for the theaters, and got released 30 yrs later on home video with slight edits. Snyder's version is "incomplete and butchered".

And yes, Oliva was talking about the JL rumor because he posted a tweet linked to "Heroic Hollywood's article that states Snyder has been working on his Justice League Cut for the past 7 months". Click on the source and scroll up. Jay Oliva specifically states the snyder cut rumor started by this website is bullshit and clickbait.

Huh? Tbh I wouldn't mind a cut of BvS without all the setup for justice league and the Email from Bruce to Diana. Could you imagine seeing that movie and not knowing Gal was Wonder Woman until she saved Batman from Doomsday? That would be crazy. Also take out batman murdering people.

BvS already has an extended cut, or are we not researching anything anymore? The articles on this site are seriously becoming more and more steaming piles of garbage. Confusing Justice League for Batman v Superman is seriously a new low.

My apologies to everyone. I made the change as soon as I saw it. The storyboard artist is from BvS, and that's where the mix up began.

It appears the images are taking a while to change over.

Again, I'm sorry!

This is the story that will not die.

Its absolutely mind boggling how many news outlets are constantly trying to make this happen .. "Stop trying to make fetch happen" ;)

Also .. is 'Justice League of Justice' a new film or? .. jk

Twitter is filled with "confirmed" stories that Snyder is working on this on his own .. and Snyder is definitely NOT working on this

At this point .. let's just all move on.

@Kryptonick724 - You misread what I wrote ..

I was saying twitter if filled with both stories.

Half are saying he is making it and half are saying he isn't.

Sorry if I wasn't totally clear. My bad.

All I've seen is where Jay Olivia continues to correct all the trolls online regarding the SNYDER cut.... staying that IT EXISTS and when her days it's co-chair he's referring to others bloggers that day they have sources when in fact they don't. He KNOWS IT EXISTS and has encouraged the fans to keep asking for it...because it's coming. Side note.... Several of the actors are also lobbying for the cut to be released. Ray Fisher in particular is heavily supporting the cause. I guess we'll all jabber to wait and see what happens at SDCC. If it is announced it would likely be at the end as to not take away from other DC panels that Will be there.... And honestly if you think about it.... This hype and the hopeful release of the news of the original cut wouldn't take away from other DC panels... It works only enhance them. There's a reason for everything...and i highly doubt we will be waiting very long for it. WB knows they screwed up. That's why there exists a new leadership there and with the AT&T merger...there exists even more money to throw at the project to set things straight and that gives me hope. There's no reason at all to delay the final product...make it cannon...and pretend the theatrical cut was never seen.

It would be interesting to see, given it was described as "unwatchable" and people desperate for their bonuses and on a timeframe, prefered to authorise months of reshoots rather than finish Snyders version.

It's entirely possible that WB will spend millions on finishing the Snyder cut after all the pedigree of his previous films is without question and another version of an already released, terrible film is a cert at the box office. (sarcasm for those who didnt spot it :-))

Whilst I think MoS is OK and BvS is relatively enjoyable, Snyders vision of the DCU is just off.
Kryptonick724
Kryptonick724 - 7/5/2018, 7:25 AM
@Radders - it is very likely. No sarcasm. Because it wouldn’t cost as much as you think (have you seen the amount of footage not in the cut that has been released online- it was all complete too) and two WB will make their money back and they know it. It is a business. Supply and demand. Snyder’s movies have always made money, only JL made a poor showing and it was the tampered with film.
Radders
Radders - 7/5/2018, 8:21 AM
@Kryptonick724 - I think the supply and demand issue may be a red herring as it seems there are really only a handfull of quite vocal Snyderettes who want this but that wont equate to a successful film at the box office or necessarily justify more money being thrown at a dead horse.

But it is possible they may release some half baked version on a streaming service I guess.

Fiona Zheng and her Snyder followers will be going nuts over this one.
Kryptonick724
Kryptonick724 - 7/5/2018, 7:22 AM
@Liverpool4life - Likely yes, because the story is incorrectly reported. Jay Oliva said “It exists..deal with it” in a tweet to a critic claiming it didn’t.
Ha1frican
Ha1frican - 7/5/2018, 6:52 AM
Look we get it. It was storyboards, it was shot but the VFx were never finished and Snyder never made it to the editing stage so he never put it together. The raw material is all there but he never finished it so yes it in theory DOES exist but it was never finished in the way people claim. All the ingredients are on the table but no one ever actually made the sandwich
Kryptonick724
Kryptonick724 - 7/5/2018, 7:21 AM
@Ha1frican - Incorrect. Jay Oliva stayed Snyder edits and adds the CFC at the same time. So while it may all not be finished, A LOT of it is.

There IS a Snyder Cut of the film. It's about 71% finished, and apparently it's really really bad. Everyone blames Whedon for messing it up, but when he came in the movie was already behind schedule, over budget, and somewhat of a hot mess. I guarantee you it wasn't Whedon's choice to release the film with unpolished CGI and chopped-together scenes - that was 100% the choice of someone higher up.
