SPOILER ALERT: JUSTICE LEAGUE 22 Death Revealed

SPOILER ALERT: JUSTICE LEAGUE 22 Death Revealed

The "hero" that was killed has been revealed. Hit the jump for details..

For those purists that complained the way MOS ended up with the villain, but what Superman's did in this ocassion (new 52) showed a totally different situation (silly for me).

In JLA 22 THEY show a raged superman murdering Dr. light and give us an stupid reason (Althought is not clear supes kill him intentionally, maybe controlled or a master villain plan to turn people against supes)

NOW.. PURISTS WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY?
Hey folks, share what's your opinion about that

Well...of [frick]ing course he's gonna kill some [frick]ing body. Because that's apparently the only way we can tell compelling stories with the character anymore.

I think he was possessed by something. But looks really bad Geoff Johns perhaps needs to give the superhero stuff a break, he is really just writing in his own worst stereotypes.

The purists can eat a big shite sandwich.

Supes killed Zod in Superman 2 by thowing him down a glacial cavern and smirked about it. Mind you, this was after he took his powers away from him.

Qouted for truth, the purists will however ignore it.

@GizmoEl

They're moving the character foward from the box that's been holding the character back for years.

Ya... this isn't exactly what it looks like, and it takes all of one page for them to explain that. Read the issue. It looks like the start of a pretty interesting series.

Dr Light? Out of all the characters to kill.

Actually if anyone has read the issue properly...this is a ruse!! It states that Dr.Light is not dead they've set Superman up to discredit him...seriously read the issue...

They may have Supes do this sort of thing in films but we all know DC would never go that far for real in the comics....

@ElBicho and @Ocelot

I think you are terrible mistaken. Zod and his minions are not dead at the end of Superman 2.

Check this out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mA5d66AnT7s

Yea its not really Superman, you gotta read the story peeps.

As far as it being lame that he only killed Dr light, if he would have killed someone more important everyone knows that they would be back soon anyways.

Btw bought it, read it, enjoyed it, great issue.

$10 DC did this to intentionally link to Man Of Steel.

@Isra

How did I know that somebody would try and use this. Sorry but that's a deleted scene and didn't make the final cut of the film so is therefore not canon, so it's irrelevant. Superman killed a defenceless and powerless Zod before smirking about in Superman 2.
Supermanofsteel
Supermanofsteel - 7/10/2013, 2:48 PM
@Isra man that's not a part of the movie... that's a deleted scene... sure MOS CAN put a scene when zod is sent into the phantom zone =)

@Isra Yep, have to agree with others here...a deleted scene is exactly what it is: Deleted. Meaning the story is told is the one we see.

That's like calling the start of The Avengers rubbish, as there is that terrible scene they shot and never used with Smoulders in it.

Thank god someone else pointed out Superman killing Zod in Superman 2. And don't give me that deleted scene crap. It was deleted which means not part of the movie. He de-powered Zod and his cronies, crushed his hand and threw him into a deep glacial pit. Then he takes pleasure in hurting and embarrassing a regular human who insulted him when he was powerless.

MechanicalLivestock

I'm confused. Why do people keep using Superman 2 as an example of superman killing. The Donner Superman movies , just like Man of Steel, are an interpretation of Superman and are not part of the Superman comics continuity anyway. I'm pretty sure over the course of 75 years a story must have been written that has Superman killing someone so just use that to make your case.

THEORY WITH POSSIBLE SPOILERS:

Dr. Light was given his new powers by a Secret Society artifact. His powers give him the ability to suck in forms of light. Waller decided to face Dr. Light off against Superman, who is powered by solar energy and has heat vision (a form of light). Dr. Light was intentionally given powers by the Secret Society, and Superman did not intentionally kill him. Instead Dr. Light's powers forced the heat vision out of Superman's eyes and killed Dr. Light. In turn this leads to the Trinity War, which is said to end with the Secret Society winning and taking over the world. This is all part of the Secret Society's plan.
