In an interview with Collider, the young actress and star of new movie Let Me In, was quizzed about Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall and whether she's planning on reprising the role of Hit-Girl in the near future. Her answer however might disappoint those of you that are hoping for it to hit the big screen as soon as 2012!

"Yeah, I’d totally love to be Hit Girl again, but I don’t know about Kick-Ass 2. Everyone’s like, 'It’s just been announced!,' but I’m like, 'No, it hasn’t. That’s all rumor.' I honestly don’t even know anymore. I don’t know anything about a second one. All I know is that there’s a second comic called Balls to the Wall. Hopefully, that will happen."

So, perhaps the movie isnt quite as far along as we've been led to believe! Current reports, mostly originating from the series' creator Mark Millar, have indicated that shooting might start on the sequel as soon as next Spring but the actors (including Aaron Johnson who also recently said he was unaware about work on the sequel) are still clearly in the dark about this! Either way, the first issue of the comic book version is set to be released later this month!

@Taboo...not necessarily bad news...just a clarification of whats happening with the people behind it, I would like to see her return as Hit-girl but if they have prior commitments then we gotta wait. Remember how Vaughn mentioned he wanted to do American Jesus and Superior plus doing Kick-ass 2, its all on the director and his big breasted writer friend Jane Goldman

I'm sure they'll start work on this movie next year. I guess it will come down to how busy they all are and whether Vaughn decides to direct either this or Superior. The longer they wait, the older she gets though...

Wolvie: Thanks bud - read and replied! :)

@Taboo...that is true...she will grow up and "blossom" and will have a hard time believing she is that "young"...now the one problem is that they are asking the cast, usually they have no idea what happens until they get calls...so for now lets wait and see how this all works out

@Joshw and Hawks...wouldn't it be crazy if Superior and Superman are released in the same year

first off i saw "Let Me In" the other day and it was really really good i encurage all of you to see it as soon as you can, Ms Moretz is amazing in the film. i really hope they do make a sequal to Kick-Ass and in a way hurry it up before she gets to old

give them time, you dont want them to rush it. Let Millar write the new comic series first and then make the movie but do it before Chloe Moretz or the guy who played Kick-Ass get too old

I hope they get around to making the sequel soon. Before Chloe sprouts and gets too tall to play Hitgirl.
