Christopher Mintz-Plasse was recently asked by Collider about the status of Kick-Ass 2 while doing an interview for another one of films The To Do List. Mintz-Plasse, who plays The Red Mist, revealed that he has been reading the comic books and that he wants to do the sequel, but said Matthew Vaughn is not sure if he will be back to direct.

On if he has been reading the Kick-Ass sequel as Mark Millar publishes it:

"Yeah. I haven’t seen the new one.

On what he thinks when he reads them:

"Please make this movie!"

On Matthew Vaughn and who he would recommend if Vaughn couldn't direct:

I talked to Matthew and he’s like, “I don’t know if I would ever direct it, but I would definitely be on board to produce it. And I’ve thought, Eli Roth would be such a cool director for this. Or someone who hasn’t done a comic book movie but gets horror ‘cause it’s very violent. Very bloody. But Chloe’s working up a storm, man. She’s non-stop. So, who knows if we’ll ever do it? I know I would love to, and I think Aaron would love to. I’m sure Chloe would, but we’re all just kind of busy right now.

What do you guys think, if Matthew Vaughn isn't going to direct who do you think should helm Kick-Ass 2? Sound off in the usual place below.

I think Eli Roth would be an interesting choice as a director. I would like to see a film by him other than a horror movie and a comic book movie seems like a good fit.

What we need is to get Kick-Ass 2 off of the ground first. Is there even a script in the works?

I'm starting to think this won't happen, at least with the original cast. It might be the type of thing that gets revisited 10 years down the road.

It's a matter of opinion, but I didn't think kick-ass 1 was good at all. All the praise has me baffled.

Kick Ass 2 wont happen, With Millar trying to make movies with Nemesis and maybe Superior and idek what the deal is with SuperCrooks, he will not come back to Kick-Ass unless it's 10 years later

Of course he wants to do this movie. It's the only good role he's offered, since he's type casted as McLovin. The only problem is that he's not believable in the role. I'm ready for a reboot of Kick-Ass.

@SomCin-I agree with you that this movie was just awful. I was disappointed when I saw it the first day it came out and in myself for wasting my money. The fight scene between Redmist and Kick-ass was unwatchable and the part when Kick-ass and Hit-girl are flying through the city was tacky and unnecessary. However, the acting performed by the actors was good. Aaron Johnson was believable as a a comicbook fanboy/wannabe superhero and Chloe Moretz did a good job portraying a tough but lovable anti-heroine.I think reading the comic is enough to do justice for your pleasure.

I know, it's a damn shame. But i hope we get a Kick-Ass 2, but if we don't i would love to see a Kick-Ass or Hit-Girl animated cartoon series.

I loved Kick Ass almost as much as I hated Scott Pilgrim.

And I want to see the sequel!
