If you are gonna do it go all out Vigilante, but then the law comes after you. If you do it wear a different disguise and use a different style of attack each time so that you have no M.O. that the police can trace. When I say "disguise" I do not mean "Costume". I mean disguise yourself as everyday people on the street and try not to stand out. Never use the same weapon in the same area twice. No matter how effective. It can be done....

that mexican wrestler above looks pathetic, but actually this isnt a bad idea. Me and my friends had thought about it way before kick ass ever came out. u can get basic body armor for around 300-600 dollars on ebay. a decent bulletproof helmet for about 250. you would need to pick your fights obviously. If you havent had any sort of physical training then what that guy in the article does, calling the cops, is a pretty good idea. These days people dont even do that.

What's the biggest crime in that area? Loitering? I've notice most of these costumed head-cases patrol sleepy little towns.

But I like the old dude saying that the kid clearly needs to go out and get a job yet at the same time he hopes that same person keeps a vigil on his store. What a prick.

This article aggravates me just by the name. Unstable people? C'mon! These people whether they are helping or not, are at least doing more than some COPS are. Give them some credit. The fact that someone can't go out and try to help someone from being attacked is a crime in itself, is sad.

lol I wonder why do none of these guys ever show up im areas with real crime like Chicago, New York, or Detroit?
Hellmont
Hellmont - 7/7/2010, 1:53 PM
Ahhh as noble as his intentions are .....no no no its lame . If there was some kind of Punisher-ish like vigilante pegging off criminals and people who deserve the death penalty but wont get it because the state has abolished the death penalty or because they are roaming around the country free because they got a high powered lawyer and used the the system to be set free. Then it would be cool to have a vigilante. No one is gonna care if Bernie Madoff get his head blown off?

@Hellmont: I think that people WOULD care if Madoff got his head blown off. They'd care because people care about things that make them feel happy and liberated.

Yep, lame. You don't need a costume to report a crime. Nothing particular to admire him for.

I've seen these kind of guys discussed before. It's a great idea, and as Kick Ass explores, I'm sure almost all of us have dreamed of doing it at one time or another. Still, without proper protection and without either natural fighting ability or some time learning karate or something, it's a good way to wind up like our friend on that comic cover right above this post.

STill, have all of us only ever thought of being a costumed hero? There would be a certain element of fun in being a super-villain if I had the right powers....

That Mexican wrestler is actually NOT a wrestler itself.
He is called SUPER-BARRIO(Super-Neighborhood), and he attends Popular marches in which people generally asks for housing and tax reducings and stuff, especially in Mexico City.
If you notice in the pic, he is about to leave a political gathering, you can see the trucks around to take people back to the city nearby neighborhoods where they left.

mmmmh.. } I think no one will read this post. it is late in the afternoon oh whatever

I like it when I see people do this kind of stuff. While it does not take a costume to report crime, how many people are apt to report it if the bad guys see you and and can find you later. Like the movie Kick-Ass, how many people bother to report it anyway? Most people do not care about crime, even petty crime if it is not directly affecting them. Like a small act of evil, a small act of good can have a huge ripple effect and who knows, those small ripples could potentially save lives.
I have seen a lot of comments about killing or carrying a gun like the Punisher. The Punisher was a man hell bent on revenge and killed in cold blood. When we have “good” people ready to cross that line then who becomes more dangerous the criminal or the vigilante. It’s not up to us to determine if someone is to evil to live or die, all we can do is what we are capable of doing and eventually one day being able to see a change.
