I saw the movie but have only glanced through the book. I read about some of the differences. I'm pretty sure I would have hated Big Daddy in the book.

Man, I can't wait for the movie.

Its just lazy. Those cracks about Rihanna, the 3 big retarded thugs.. its not funny. Its lowest common denominator humor. Like shooting comedy fish in a barrel! no wit.

I just imagine these scenes with the actors from the film,looks good,cant wait :)

I couldn't make it through the first one because of John Romita Jr.'s artwork. he's just one of those artists that I just can't stand the style of. It just looks lazy to me. and Millar's writing was never impressive to me. Nemesis is a fun read, and Superior bored the hell out of me.

Romita Jr. did a really good job with the first one. This one just looks rushed and shitty. It's like the art in TDKR vs. The Dark Knight Strikes again. Just lazy the second time around.

And i liked the movie and the comic both. Very different tones to each of them. i may have liked the movie more, but just a little.

this one just seems rushed in writing and art. it seems like millar is just in it for the payment on this one.

im excited for this, i just hope its better than kick ass 1. Kick ass 1 was good but there were a lot of parts that were stupid and pointless, which is why the movie improved upon the story in every single way possible

I really enjoyed the art for Kick Ass, but looking through it again, i think it was because of the colorist. Anyway, it was still not bad by itself. It really did compliment it well, and you guys should flip through it to check it out.

But the only other one i know by him is The Man Without Fear and the art's just average, if that.

Shaman, Bigby, and CBArtist: Agreed about JR Jr. I can tolerate his art in small doses, but his lookalike faces and vague style don't look good to me. I also prefer his dad's style. To his credit, JR Jr. does have a rather nice sense of cinematography to many of his stories, finding the right angle to show the action of a panel from that tells the story the panel needs to tell.

As far as Kick-Ass goes, I definitely prefer the movie to the comic. The comic just gets too depraved and sick, a common element to Millar's stories.

I really like JR jr.'s work. Always fun to look at.

@Beaster - I think all of his work looks rushed. His work has no sense of depth. Everything seems to be flat. His work on TDK Strikes Again was slightly better, but not by much. But I definitely agree with you. I enjoyed the movie version much more than the comic.

@Shaman - I hear you. I know the guy is giving it his best shot so I don't want to knock him for that, but really his work is sub-par for the industry. I agree that the art really needs to come alive on the page. Jim Lee, Steve McNiven, and Bryan Hitch are all really good at that. Of course, there are more but those are three that jump to mind right off the bat. And for the record, your art is excellent, man. You are very talented and your art actually looks like the people you are drawing. Everyone does not look the same.

@Comicb00kguy - You are right in that aspect. He does have a good sense of layout but the overall work just doesn't cut it to me. And yeah, the movie was much better.

Mass & Beaster- True, his art could fit in better with certain concept comics like Powers or Sam & Twitch. But for the superhero genre, he should be the last guy to go to. Punisher should suit him best out of all the other heroes but some part of me still feels like i'm insulting Punisher fans by saying that. I kinda respect his comment about his "style" but not profoundly. I've seen art that was very minimalist in details take life on the page more than his most detailed work. Take Clayton Henry for example, his art on Area 52 and Wu-Tang could pretty much only be summed up as outlines and everything else was left to the colorist in terms of shading/lighting. But his style still had a lot of depth. That's just something you can't teach. You either get it or you don't. Jr. doesn't.

comicb00kguy- Touché! That's definitely something you can't take away from him! His best attribute is to showcase storytelling angles in various pannels. Many very talented artists in the biz still can't angle as well as Jr. But that's really the extent of his abilities.

BigbyBadWolf- Well thank you VERY much for that mega compliment! I might not care if people hate my art but to hear or read that people love it always gives me a warm feeling inside. I do try really hard at improving my portraits so i'm glad it pays off with the practice! And YES, MY GOD YES, you are so TOTALLY correct with those three artists!!! Those are definitely some of my very faves! :))
