KICK-ASS 2 Update From Christopher Mintz-Plasse

At Comic-Con to promote ParaNorman, actor Christopher Mintz-Plasse supplied a brief update on Kick-Ass 2. The actor reveals what does and doesn't make it into the film from the ultra-violent Mark Millar comic book.

The sequel is definitely happening says Christopher and as fans of the comic book know, he states he'll have some help to take on Kick-Ass. But Kick-Ass won't be alone.

"It's very dark. It's 'Warriors' meets 'Kick-Ass' at the end. he has a gang of superheroes and I have a gang of villains. It's... huge. Huge," Mintz-Plasse said.

He also confirms that his character will indeed be called Mother[frick]er however one scene in the comic book will not make it into the film.

There's no rape in this one, guys. "There was one thing they took out, thank god, my character rapes a girl in the comic. And in this one its really funny because… well, I don’t want to ruin it. There’s no rape."

The actor went on to reveal that the sequel actually has a smaller budget and that the cast all took pay cuts to make the movie happen. And while director Matthew Vaughn is not returning to helm the sequel, Jeff Waldlow is directing, Plasse said that Vaughn is still active on the script.

“I’m glad Matthew Vaughn is producing and involved in every draft. He’ll be on set, so that’s very cool.”

Kickass made $96,188,903 worldwide. No wonder they had to take a pay cut :-(

its a shame great concepts like kickass cant get decent budgets and real studio backing to waste millions on hype and marketing it would not only be an ace movie but it would realy rape nolans batman and his compatriates man of steel at the box office, becouse its fresh its different its well its kickass.
im awaiting the continuation of the adventure if it remains close to the comic book / graphic novel unlike some overblown heavy wieghts already mentioned.

Much respect if the actors really did take a pay cut to make this movie happen. That's not something you hear about happening very often, and it shows a real commitment to wanting to film this story and to fans of the movie who have been loudly demanding a sequel since the original was released. A lower budget may help this film be more profitable, which could only ensure a third film later on.

They changed the first story around for the movie, and I for one thought the changes improved things and made for a better movie. I'll trust any changes this time around to be handled just as well.

From what i understand the big changes in the first film (which i enjoyed just as much as the comic) were done because the movie was green-lit and in production before he had finished the series, so they came up with there own ending. I could be wrong, but i don't think so. I'm pretty sure that's what went down. And a totally agree, it refreshing to see these actors take a pay cut because they believe in a film that much. It makes me look forward to it even more.
