Last week, LEGO was kind enough to send us the new LEGO Daily Bugle set that we first told you about a little earlier this summer. It's rare to find any Marvel sets aimed primarily at adult collectors, so that alone made this an intriguing prospect; now, we're pleased to report that it doesn't disappoint, and is both a must-buy and a spectacular homage to all things Spider-Man.

We're not kidding when we say that this beast of a set (it's a whopping 32in tall) took us the entire week to piece together, and it's what you discover along the way that proves perhaps even more satisfying than the finished product. However, as you can see from our photos, it looks nothing short of astonishing as a display piece, and this definitely does the comic books justice. Looking inside, you'll find tonnes of cool surprises ranging from the shocking amount of detail on a vending machine to fun Easter Eggs and a recreation of that Spider-Man meme in Peter Parker's office.

Of course, it would be impossible to review this set without talking about the insane number of Minifigures you'll find bundled in. Some make their debut, while other returning favourites will be welcomed by fans. You have stalwarts like Miles Morales, Venom, the Green Goblin, and Doctor Octopus, but also some pleasant surprises like Gwen Stacy, Daredevil, Blade, and The Punisher. Would we have liked to see Electro and Scorpion, for example? Sure, but with such a great selection on offer, you'll be satisfied whether you're buying this to play with, a display model, or both.

As we mentioned, Marvel sets focused on an adult market aren't anywhere near as common as those designed for kids, and while there are some exceptions, this is right up there with the Helicarrier in terms of how demanding it is and the sheer level of detail in the end result. We're desperate for more like this, and following it with a detailed Sanctum Sanctorum or Avengers Mansion would be epic.

With so many cool features (there's a freakin' Spider-Mobile!) and a genuinely fun and exciting building experience, it's impossible not to recommend this set. We love everything about it and have no doubt you will as well. It's true that it's a little pricey, but there's enough here to justify the price tag. This is, without a shadow of a doubt, the most amazing Spider-Man LEGO set ever created!

And I'm sure it's made of pieces that can only be used to make a daily bugle building.

@Ryguy88 - you're saying this like Legos aren't designed so you can use the pieces for whatever. That's literally the reason lego is as popular as it is.

@Origame - lol my point is that new Lego is so specific that it can only be used for making what's pictured on the box

I believe it's great, but the best set is still the UCS Star Destroyer in my opinion

@Waddles - that's true, but I think I like the A-Wing a little more. Not that that one's not great though, I really dig all the Lego Star Wars USC sets

@Waddles - I'll be honest, I rather see an X-Wing or Y-Wing USC (even though there already many sets of them).

B-Wing would be cool mechanics wise though. Really wonder how they would make it stand on the pedestal too

@Waddles - The classic B-Wing set (7180) was my first Lego set, so it'll always be special to me. Not sure if I'd buy a USC version though.

@Waddles - oh yeah, completely forgot the y-wing. And after looking it up, I know why. It's not as impressive as the other sets.

But if B-Wing gets one, I kinda want the snowspeeder too

I scoffed at the first picture where it only showed the entrance and thought what sorta idiots would pay that much money for that… then I scrolled down and seen the full thing.

Also I feel like they missed a trick not making the news stand owner Stan Lee.
