When I joined the staff here at ComicBookMovie last September, I never imagined that one of the fringe benefits would include free comic-related goodies. Thanks to our recent partnership with SuperHeroStuff.com, that perk is now a reality. The least I can do for both them is give an honest review of these items, and let the CBM community know if I feel they are worth purchasing.

Marvel Heroes Messenger Bag

You have no idea how happy I was that this bag arrived at my doorstep on Friday. Coincidentally, four days before my favorite sling-pack decided to rip apart and spill everything I kept stuffed inside all over the locker room floor at my job. Due to a mild case of hardheadedness, I refused to buy another bag; opting instead to duct tape the hell out of my old one. Thankfully, this Messenger Bag came in the day I ran out of duct tape that I had to keep reapplying. I didn't waste any time filling the Messenger Bag up with the usual junk I like to have handy. I have to carry a laptop case and gym bag for work, but I like to keep a 'fun bag' to help quell my random fits of boredom.

How did it hold up? Surprisingly well. For the past three days I've taken this bag everywhere with me and it hasn't disappointed. The shoulder sling is comfortable and when fully expanded it's large enough to easily hold everything that caused my last bag to bust at the seams. How much junk did I squeeze in there? My personal laptop and charger, six hardcover graphic novels, four trade paperbacks, two DVDs, an iPod Nano (fits nicely in the interior zippered pouch), sparring gloves, two t-shirts and... er, protection.

Needless to say, I'm very happy with it. The graphic on it's cover would have been enough reason for me to buy it in the first place; but now that I know how functional and durable it is, I'll be buying a few to give out to friends. I do have one concern, and unfortunately only time will tell how this will play out, the superhero graphic on the cover has a plastic coating so I don't know how it will hold up to prolonged heat. I wouldn't recommend leaving it in your car throughout the day if the sun is beating down.

If you'd like to know the detailed specs of the Marvel Heroes Messenger Bag, check out it's product page at SuperHeroStuff.com HERE.

Oh... one more thing. Don't forget that the winner of the ComicBookMovie Hawkeye & Mockingbird Cosplay Contest will receive one of these Marvel Heroes Messenger Bags filled with comic book related goodies! Click on the graphic below to check out the contest page:

*Before the inevitable question is asked, yes, the winner will receive a brand new bag; NOT the one I'm using.

Cool stuff. Might consider buying one. I want a messenger bag so I can carry my TPB and GN with me on errands in case I have to wait in long lines, etc. Also need one for when I go to Cons to carry all my goodies in. I know SuperHeroStuff has the boots I need for my ironette outfit so for sure gonna buy those.

How about you review those boots for us Poni. ;D lol. jk

MULIT: Just my opinion dude. Regardless of what you were carrying in it, the whole "Marvel Heroes" design (which I often see used on Marvel products aimed at younger fans) is, in my opinion, better suited to kids in comparison to some of the other bags on their site such as this one...

...which is better suited to my own personal taste! :) Whether it's bags, shirts or wallets - I love it when they use classic covers like that one as the design!

@Lee and Rickly HAHAHHAHAHA lmao - I don't know why, but that's some great comic timing. Think that's the funniest thing I personally ever seen you say Lee (can't keep track of everything you say =P).

I was highly skeptical on this bag. Looked like a "men's European hand bag" like that one "Flo" makes fun of on the Progressive commercial, but with comic book crap on the side - even better lol. I was like, "hey I'm gonna make sure to take that on my next date!" =)

Get a new laptop, then I had to get a new bag - I just payed $45 for my new laptop bag just like a month ago - think I'll enter the freakin' contest.

@Tea "garish for Teabag"!?!? isn't that an oxymoron? =P
PLUS, it could be your actual TeaBAG; not even going to jokingly speculate on what you'd carry around in your TeaBAG =P. But I'm willing to bet if you dropped it things would start leaking and bouncing and inflating lmao!

OK Poni, do they have the cross marketing with Vivid video's new line on these yet??? =P then we're talkin' =)

@Poni I didn't even look at that pic of your two new girlfriends =P, or the caption at least. Didn't even realize that show was on, been running all around the area buying guitar pedals. They look like they're ready to bust into some old school dj record scratchin! =P Man Iron Man 2 fever is everywhere! crazy stuff

@Teabag - hehe yeah I know - didn't mean to step on any toes.

when I said: "Get a new laptop, then I had to get a new bag - I just payed $45 for my new laptop bag just like a month ago - think I'll enter the freakin' contest."

It was meant to somewhat redeem my other statements, and actually was trying to infer that it looked like a VERY VERY HANDY utilitarian bag, and I certainly wouldn't pass it up if I had a chance at owning one for very cheap or free.

For my own taste, if it had something a little more simple - like say TDK logo, or even just the Marvel logo, just not the whole entire side covered with a gigantic primary color wall of characters, I'd buy it.

I'm sure it comes in many styles, and again it looks VERY handy. It would be awersome to own, but I wouldn't pay for that one in particular.

didn't mean to step on any toes, just couldn't resist the TeaBAG joke =P It's very good for a younger kid (Teabag) =P

@cookfreeordie - in that it's part of a comicbookmovie.com contest, makes it valid.

@Tea ah yeah man, I thought about it later and figured it out lol.

Just thought I got a little too selacious or perverted for the thread for a moment, then I remembered where I was and who I was talking to =P

After I met with Poni, just trying to come from a little more serious perspective =)

Then I relapsed even further and figured you meant the act of a "Teabagging" was the prize lol...

Hey Tea (or anyone else), not to derail this thread, but do you know if "Legion" is classified as a cbm... it is yeah??
