The Dracula story centers on a young prince, when he was better known by the name of Vlad the Impaler, the man behind the all the Dracula myth.
The feature film is also being produced with Dede Gardner as well as Mr Pitt as already reported and currently the movie project is in script form written by actor Charlie Hunnam.
Music video director and photographer Anthony Mandler will helm the Dracula movie project, his first feature directing debut. Summit acquired this a while ago, but was keeping it all hush hush till they found Mandler.
THR's HeatVisionBlog says that Mandler's reel he prepared wowed Summit Execs and they drew comparisons to the comic book movie's style of Zack Snyder's "300." He's directed ten of Rhianna's music-videos and others for Eminem and the Killers too.
Warner Bros. was wanting the project but Summit Entertainment managed to keep their hands on it. With movie adaption "Vlad," Summit hopes to make a visually edgy and radical period movie that also will break a new talent and will be totally different to the "Twilight" films.
LEEE777 - Well as much as i'm not a fan of the "Twilight" movies, i think vampire movies in general are great from "Blade" to "Underworld," so it sounds amazing to me that we'll hopefully see a new take on Dracula as "Vlad." What do you guys think, comments below.
