Even More Awesome Footage Revealed In The First Featurette For THE MUMMY

Tom Cruise has released the first featurette for The Mummy, and if you weren't already sold on the idea of this reboot, you probably will be after watching this! Showing off some impressive stunts and cool new footage, it looks like Universal may have succeeded in delivering a great opening chapter for their shared monsters universe. In fact, this may make you wish Alex Kurtzman had directed Venom!

The new scenes here reveal that we'll be heading back to Ancient Egypt to spend some time with The Mummy before she was the monster we saw in the trailer, while Tom Cruise's character can also be seen engaging in a pretty brutal looking fight with Russell Crowe's Dr. Jekyll. Of course, based on what we see here, you have to wonder whether or not he might be a little more Mr. Hyde by this point.

Starring Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, and Russell Crowe, The Mummy is set to be released on June 9th, next year. Are you excited to watch the movie?

I'd like to think actors sign on for films so they can really do what they do best, and enjoy, which is to act. The money is great too, but you wanna somewhat enjoy shooting something for maybe 6 months or more.

This.....YOU KNOW CROWE AND CRUISE DID THIS PURELY FOR THE MONEY.

@ComicsBornAndBred - who doesn't do these movies for the money? every actor needs a franchise because no one sees their other stuff.

@ComicsBornAndBred - do you think people really go to see Downey Jr, Movies when he isn't Spam in a Can? or Cavill when he isn't truth, Justice and The American Broodster?

Oh Look! it's Mark Ruffalo in another Independent Film...Quick...make way for all 38 people who will see it.

Nope.

You need Franchises.

To anyone who liked Dracula Untold, I have to ask: Are you even a Dracula fan? Because that film was a complete bastardisation of the character.

Nemesis is already sick of these cinematic universes however it is nice to see something different try to establish itself in the movie market ruled by the exact same freaking superhero films...

Yes they are going for a shared universe but Nemesis doubts they will be a team up style films, like the superhero movies, but more of a versus or struggle for power film series (ex. mummy vs Dracula, wolfman vs gillman, Frankenstein vs mummy)

Just Nemesis's thoughts on this but fingers crossed!

Does Sofia Boutella bear a resemblance to Anak Su Namun?
