With Comic-Con just around the corner, we've had a lot of big Blu-ray announcements this week. First, Walt Disney Home Entertainment announced the release dates for both Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, then it was Fox Home Entertainment with the announcement of SDCC-Exclusive vinyl editions for five of their films, including Logan & Deadpool, and now, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the home video release date for their Dark Universe launching pad The Mummy.

The Tom Cruise-led film will arrive on Digital HD on August 22, followed by a 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD release on September 12.

While a domestic disappointment, The Mummy was able to find an international audience and to date, has grossed over $385.49 million worldwide, which should be a decent enough start for the Dark Universe. However, it does put a lot of added pressure on the next installment, Bill Condon's Bride of Frankenstein, which is due out February 15, 2019.

Check out the full list of special features, including several deleted scenes and tons of behind-the-scenes featurettes, below:

Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy.

From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.

Everyone trashed that movie, so when it came out I figured I would go the week after. There was no week after lol It screened for one week and it was gone.

Don't waste your money. It was awful.
They basically stole the plot of Bram Stoker's Dracula and grafted Egyptian demons over the vamps.

If it wasn't for Transformers 5 this would probably be the worst movie I've seen all year.

I had high hopes for this, but so disappointed. The only things I liked were Cruise and what they were trying to go for with some horror elements. Other than that, it was so boring and just a disappointment. They should have been smart and used Dracula Untold as the first entry. While it was not amazing, was a very entertaining and solid first entry into their universe and much better than this film.

Tom Cruise's name put on the cover like that alone would keep me from buying this movie. I'll watch it when it hits the streaming services someday.
