TOTAL RECALL Director Len Wiseman No Longer Involved With THE MUMMY

The director of the Underworld franchise and last year's Total Recall remake is no longer attached to Universal's planned reboot of The Mummy due to scheduling issues. Now?

Love it or hate it, the original The Mummy franchise was a big earner for Universal. The franchise grossed over $1.25 billion over the course of three films, and the studio planned on rebooting it in the hopes of similar success with Total Recall director Len Wiseman. His take looked set to be a lot less camp than those films, with him at one point describing it as: "It’s horror. Its epic. It’s more of a modern day version of what would happen if we came across a mummy in our world today. It is pretty fascinating." Unfortunately, scheduling issues have led to Wiseman leaving the project - penned by Jon Spaihts - so the search for a new director is set to begin immediately.

I was ok for more mummy movies with the same cast but if they reboot it has to be different like horror and not action/adventure to justify the reboot because I enjoyed the triology especially the first 2 movies. the third was meh.

I like how he was going to direct a movie about a rotting corpse. There is some fitting symbolism here, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

What in the world is Kate Beckinsdale going to do for her next movie now?! You know there was no way she wasn't in this. Not that I'm complaining, she can be in every movie I watch.

"What in the world is Kate Beckinsdale going to do for her next movie now?"

LOL! You are beyond ignorant. She's shooting it right now with Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley. The woman has been in 40 movies, only 3 of which her husband had anything to do with. She also was a very successful and famous actress before she even met her husband. She also shot Trials of Cate McCall with Nick Nolte and James Cromwell, which he husband had no involvement.

Either way, why do you have a problem with the man working with his wife? Tim Burton casts his wife Helena-Bonham Carter in every movie he makes, and nobody says a word. Judd Apatow casts his wife in every movie he makes, and nobody says a word. Wiseman casts his wife in 3 films out of 40 and people have a problem with it.

So delusional. If you think that, I've got a bridge to sell you.

I don't know, but Wiseman got the better end of this deal. Stay away from remakes. Lord help the director they get for this.

They're going to make the film more modern and call it "The Tampon".
