10 things that could make Black Panther Movie the best CBM ever!

Rumors of a Black Panther Movie have been swirling around the inter webs for some time and there is some speculation that Marvel is working on finalizing a script. This editorial provides some ideas that I think could make a Black Panther Movie an Epic part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A lot of press has been given to the possibility of a black panther movie. Recently, Stan Lee alluded to a Black Panther movie being in development.  As a fan of the Black Panther, I would like to give my sugguestions as to what could make the movie truly one for the history books as well as proivde some depth to the marvel cinematic universe.

1.  Wakanda's Back Story

Use this movie to go into the back story of Wakanda. Link Wakanda's technology to ancient Egypt.  Have Wakanda be a colony of the ancient Egyptians that broke away from Egypt when Egypt started going into decline.  Explain how the stumbled on the vibranium mound thousands of years ago (this differs from established cannon but could work for the MCU).  Have the oral history be that the mound was guarded by mutated/genetically enhanced black panthers changed by the radiation from the vibranium.  The founder, Bashenga, could be a Egyptian general who was able to pacify the panthers.  As a result of this act his followers crowned him King and started the Wakadan royal bloodline-okay that maybe a bit much but you get the point.

2. Black People and the World Security Council

Use the movie to explain why there are no black people on the World Security Council.  Have Wakanda, be a former member under T'Chaka, (or at least courted by the council), however, Wakanda left the council because of their intelligence discovered the Hydra infiltration.

3. Black Panther Super Powers

Give Black Panther Captain America level super powers (or a little more to account for the mystical elements of his power) from the palm shaped herb.  The Ultimate Avengers animanted move part 2, shows the ability for the Kings to become panther like-this movie needs some of that. Under extreme conditions Black Panther inner panther comes out. The MCU is going int the mystical territory and some of the Panther's ability should explore this aspect.

4. Lupita Nyong'o

Cast Lupita Nyong'o as Shuri. Now.

5. Central Plot

Have the plot revolve around an attack by enemy forces against the Wakandan vibranium mound.  Have Claw be the main villian and have him be contracted by mysterious forces to secure the mound. The sources should link back to Hydra who is being manipulated by Thanos.  The movie's second act should show Claw recruiting all the escaped villians from the destroyed S.H.I.E.L.D facilities to mount an epic invasion of Wakanda.

6. Unconquered Wakanda

Show that Wakanda had been invaded by the Skrulls and the Kree during World War II (two separate attacks) and was able to defeat them under T'chaka's leadership. This elevated T'caka to legendary status in Wakanda exceeding even that of its founder (this could feed a subplot aobut T'challa not feeling worthy to live up to his father's legacy). Also have it that T'Chaka defeated a secret mission by Captain America who was sent with the Howling Commandos to secure some additional vibranium.  Since that time they have become hyper militarized and have been preparing for apocalyptic battle on earth. Basically have the Wakandans be far more aware of the cosmic side of Marvel than everyone else on earth.

7.  Black Panther Guards

Have the Black Panthers have real enchanced panthers (descended from the orginal panthers that guarding the vibranium mound) guarding the the throne room as well as the vibranium mound. This would make for some amazing action sequences during the invasion of Wakanda in the final set piece. They could use real leopards and enhance their size using CGI similar to what Game of Thrones does with the Dire Wolves.

8.  Black Panther's Suit

Make Black Panther's suit bullet proof and able to reflect light (stealth mode) allowing him to appear to disappear in low light when he activates that feature. Also have him have a vast array of vibranium based gadgets that show off his genius level intellect.

9.  Have Captain America discover the plot and try to warn Wakanda of the invasion.

10. End the film with Wakanda almost defeated until the battle is joined by Captain America, Falcon, Hawkeye and Black Widow.  At the end of the move T'Challa is now convinced that Wakanda must end its isolation and seek assistance from the Avenger team.  End credit scenes should show some of the dead villians army transforming back into Skrulls. This shows involvement of a cosmic scale (aka Thanos).

These are just a few sugguestions. I will not address the casting of the Black Panther as that can be for another article.

I hope everyone enjoyed this and I look forward to hearing feedback. Also, to Kevin Feige and Joss Whedon, I am available to consult on the project and will even write the script if requested (got to put it out in the universe!) .

I think that I am safe in saying that Black Panther, if done right could have Batman level impact for the MCU and could usher in a golden age in the portrayal of characters of African descent.

I will admitt that this editorial is better than that one Black Panther editorial awhile back that changed all the Black characters to white characters and vice versa

Maybe i'm not understanding something here, so let me apologize ahead of time if i'm totally off-base...but let me get this straight:

There are no black people on the World Security Council because T'Chaka and Wakanda pulled out of it. Do all black people come from, or live in Wakanda?

I can't figure out if this is racist or not....
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 9/2/2014, 9:56 PM
.....i mean, wouldn't this be as ignorant as someone telling a black person to back to Africa, even though that person has never even been to Africa their whole life?

Again, i feel like I'm missing something here, because you can't really be serious with this.

Number 2 tho...

Also, why would Wakanda find out abiut Hydra, leave the World Security Council, and NOT tell anyone what they discovered? They just let Hydra grow bigger and stronger within SHIELD.

I'm starting to think this is a joke article.

your ideas regarding HYDRA are a bit silly. it's ok to have Klaw linked to HYDRA but to have wakanda know about the infiltration and to have HYDRA working for Thanos is just stupid IMO.

also i'd leave the siege/fall of Wakanda to an avengers film perhaps they can put hide an infinity gem in the city once thanos comes for it.

First, this is my first artuclle for the site and i am still figuring out how to use the sit. The article was not finished (hence the mistakes) and was posted accidentally. I was trying to save the article to work on it latter and then submitted it. Is it possible to edit an article that has been submitted? Also, these are just ideas. Not withstanding the above, I answer as follows:

As far as number 2 goes, as a person of African descent I wondered why there were no black people/nation represented on the security council. An organization that is tasked with protecting the planet. That could be ignored or Black Panther could be used to as a creative opportunity to add some diversity to the World Council or explain the lack of diversity of the world council. It also shows the power of Wakanda. In any event it would be good to show some interaction with the council. Despite Wakanda's efforts to conceal itself from the world it would make sense that the council would know about Wakanda, its vibranium and try to court Wakanda.

As far as Wakanda leaving the council with out telling anyone, this would be to show how deeply distrustful they are of the outside. The are also historically an isolationist nation so it makes sense they would withdraw and not tell anyone. They don't know who to trust!

I will write more later. Got to go to work. Thank you all for the feedback!

Dejazmatch- i doubt wakanda a would ever be interested in joining the security council. and the members of the council seem to represent some major nations (bald man USA, the woman Britain, the Indian man India, and of course the cinese guy from the dark knight china)

@ Dejazmatch

Right....

But you're still pretty much saying that a black person can't represent other countries like the US or Britain. You realize this, right?

Yes, you can edit articles that you already submitted. Just go to your profile, click in the article, make your changes, submit it again, and the article will be updated with your changes in a short amount of time.

But you're unable to make further edits if your article hits main. In that case, only power users can edit your article.

Also, as you said, Wakanda is extremelly isolationist (Sometimes, even portrayed as downright xenophobic), so I don't think they would have withdrawed from the WSC. They would never have been a part of the Council to begin with, since they don't want to have anything to do with the rest of the world.

@CorndogBurgular

Not saying that a black person could not represent a western nation just that I would like to see a continent with over a Billion people represented in the MCU's, most powerful human organization. It appears other regions are represented (ie. America, Europe Asia) I know not all Africans are black but as a black person I would like to see someone who looks like me have a seat at the table of this powerful organization (keeping in mind it's all fiction). That having been said, understand your concern. Thanks for the feedback.

Some of your ideas are out there.

My vision of a Black Panther movie is somewhere in between Blood Diamond and Casino Royale.

As someone not too familiar with the source material, what is Wakanda's status as far as being "known" to the rest of the world? I was under the impression that it was somewhat hidden, but again I'm not that knowledgeable.

T'Challa turning more Panther beast-like as he did in Ultimate Avengers 2? I'd have to pass on that.
