why don't they use the kids who voiced them on the show. i watched this show from the beginning and they kids who voice the characters actually look like the kids in the show. not to mention they have the voices! i would be okay with the casting if it weren't for mcartney. i think star power will hurt this movie. they really better not blow this. the show was so good. the only way to make the movie successful would be to make it more intense and less child-like, this cast just screams kid friendly. i imagined the movie as being the badass counterpart to the show.

Ben Foster could pull it off, but he looks too old. He's one of the best actors out there though.

I'm more worried about the directing than the casting. When there's a movie where one person can't act, shame on them. But when no one can act, shame on M.Night Shamalan. Seriously, did anybody see The Happening? I just hope he'll learn from it in time not to screw this one up.

My god. That was one of the best cartoons on Nickelodeon EVER! Airbender was great, as for this casting debacle...NO NO NO and NO! These are not good choices IMO. Keep it animated and make a movie, let Pixar get ahold of this one and go for the Gusto! THAT would make for a badass Avatar movie. Not this crap. This sounds like someone will be screaming rape before it's all said and done.

I think Shayamalan is a bad director: so limited in his own boundaries and focusing mainly on his fantasies rather than a decent cinematogpraphy, satisfying characterization and audiance expectations. Though it seems like he is trying and bringing out new things with every new movie, analysed briefly, you will see that he is looping around the same crap. This brings out a "copy-paste" emotion flow in each and every film. Believe me, seeing "Pokemonization" of people isn't that enjoying every time. It is nothing but booooring!!! Sure this may be his very own "style" but this style -unfortunately- doesn't intersect with Avatar concept. I personally don't want to see another ruined cartoon.

I'd like to see Del Toro instead but I think, I firstly wanna see his "Hobbit" movie. I know he has it, Hellboy and Pan's Labyr are not bad movies at all, and I like the way he uses light and the angles he shoots places. He has the understanding of a comic-book, fantasy readers' perception and the way he pronounce it, is not disturbing nor raw. Additionally, his characters are more believable though they're more fantasy, and the storytelling doesn't make you bite your lips because of boredom. Waiting for Hobbit very badly btw.

They won't. It's gonna follow Book 1 exactly. Then they're gonna make Book 2 and Book 3. Thats if M Night doesnt screws it up too bad.

Yah I know, Dekota should be. And as for Jesse, I saw him recently in some shows/movies, he's really not that bad an actor, actually he's pretty good. It surprised me. He'll be a good Zuko
