Toon Zone has been informed that Columbia House will finally be releasing Batman: The Animated Series on DVD. The company will offer both the DVDs that Warner Bros. had previously released, as well as new compilation discs.

The animated series will be featured as a part of it's "TV Greats" line, which is scheduled to kick off in the spring. The first disc will reportedly contain the episodes The Cat And The Claw, Parts 1 & 2, Cat Scratch Fever, and The Lion & The Unicorn. This disc is set to be a part of a reported ten volume collection.

Columbia House previously released episodes of Batman: The Animated Series in a twenty-eight VHS collection. The The Cat And The Claw, Parts 1 & 2, Cat Scratch Fever, and The Lion & The Unicorn episodes were also featured on the same compilation tape in the VHS collection. Columbia House hinted that it will be bringing it's most popular collections to DVD, Batman: The Animated Series being a top candidate.

Thanks to Randy K. Hassan for informing us! Columbia House is expected to make an official announcement soon, so stay tuned for updates.
