The Black Widow movie should go into production this year, screenwriter David Hayter told Comics Continuum.

"I am handing in my script for Black Widow to Lion's Gate this month, and understand that they want to get into production right away," Hayter said. "I am directing this one."

Hayter, who was a contributing writer on the X-Men movie, also helped in the latest Iron Man script (being prepped by Smallville co-creators Miles Millar and Al Gough). The Iron Man movie is being directed by Nick Cassavetes. Hayter also wrote the script for The Watchmen which Paul Greengrass will direct.
