Marvel Movie rights - Lets help Marvel Studios get them back

Marvel Studios need our help to get back the rights and here's my thoughts

We all want to see the Hulk go head to head with Wolverine or the X-Men fighting the Avengers, Spider-Man & Daredevil teaming up,The Fantastic Four aiding the Avengers on the big screen. The possibilities are endless but for now this is a fans dream!

And if you really truly want this to happen then you must help Marvel Studios regain the rights to their characters. As everyone knows Marvel are trying to get back the rights to the outstanding properties outside of Marvel Studios (Fantastic 4, Spider-Man, X-Men) and if the rumors are to be believed Marvel are canceling fantastic 4 comics and are not putting out toy lines for X-Men movies as they do with all Marvel Studio films.

Nowadays a movies success is based on their cinematic box office earnings and if these films are not making enough money the studios will see holding the rights no longer necessary and will either let the rights revert or sell them to Marvel Studios. So why would you want to go and pay money to keep the X-Men with 20th Century Fox or to keep Spider-Man at Sony Pictures? The answer is we don't but for some reason fans moan that they want Spider-Man etc back at Marvel yet they pay top dollar to see the movie from another studio... If you really want to see these characters back at Marvel then don't go and see them in the cinema and pay for them to stay at these other studios - instead wait for the DVD/Blu Ray release or stream the movie, anything to stop these studios holding onto our beloved characters and doing them no justice.

Marvel Studios are in no way perfect but they do our characters justice and give us fans little nods and they do listen. 20th Century Fox are only in it for the cash, to make as much cash as possible and to feed off the Avengers success. Marvel Studios had a vision from Iron Man (2008) to bring in a shared universe. 20th Century Fox had their chance to do this and failed even Sony Pictures rebooted Spider-Man to hold onto their cash cow...

So please we should help Marvel by snubbing these movies as I for one want to see the ultimate cinematic shared universe. With every hero and villain at Marvel Studios

Come on who really wants to see the leather foX-Men, the not so fantastic four or the semi amazing Spider-Man? When you could have these characters done right and done amazingly by Marvel Studios (costumes/relationships/references/powers etc)

It's fashionable to not like MS these days. We should want more things to go to Fox and Sony.

This is dumb. You realize how small a portion we are of the people who saw that movie? The movie would still be successful. Also Marvel wouldn't immediately make Spidey and X-Men movies. They don't fit into their universe. Also there profit wouldn't go up too much since almost everyone who saw Spidey or DOFP saw Avengers.

Even if they did have the rights to all those characters, it is never going to be practical for Marvel Studios to make movies in the quantity that we would expect.

And yes, Marvel Studios are in it for the cash too, not just Fox. And who would not want to feed off the Avenger's success? Making movies is a business. The goal of any business is to make money. If I was Sony, I would be holding onto my cash cow. And I don't think Fox are failing considering that DOFP is a major success at the box office.

I enjoy most of these movies, regardless of who they are with.

They don't NEED the rights and if you want less CBM's then everything being at Marvel is a great idea, a single studio can only put out so many movies you know.

If you want more of a watered down Wolverine (especially no bloody unrated version on the DVD) or having the X-Men live in a world where it's okay to be a superhero, it kinda takes away all of their conflict doesn't it?

- Spider Man would probably fit well, F4 MAYBE but shared universes are so overrated, it opens up a lot of complications a like "oh my god manhattan is being destroyed why is there only Spider Man there to help when we have all these superheroes?"

I think personally the whole X-men thing shouldn't exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's just too much, too many characters. Spiderman and Fantastic 4? They should belong to marvel though Marvel has a good relationship with Sony I could see them making movies in conjunction with Sony in the next few years. That said Fox should just stop making Fantastic 4 movies, the movies they've made are horrible.

"[Marvel] do our characters justice" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Are you serious!? - say that to the Mandarin, the fact Tony is going to be Ultron's creator etc... Someone on here before posted a long list of them which I can't be bothered to find but Marvel is guilty too of straying from the source material.

Why do people kiss their ass so much? - Marvel makes some great movies and some terrible ones like all studios.

First of all, this is stupid. THIS is precisely why I have such a passionate dislike of the MCU zealots.

It's like a lot of those guys judge a film's quality based on NOTHING MORE than the distribution company...like what the hell? They're still Marvel movies, regardless of what company distributes the film. I hate how people judge a film by whose label is on the back...not by actual opinions or quality. Just say things like "Fox gonna Fox." or "Revert and reboot." Like just assuming that because the series will be distributed by a different producer than it will drastically change quality. It's so fricking childish...

That said, F4 would fit better in the MCU but I give Fox a chance. X-Men need to stay at Fox, X-Men NEVER should cross over with any other superheroes save for Deadpool. The whole premise of the story would be destroyed if they crossed over. I used to sorta support Sony, but god, they haven't made a decent CBM in ten f**k*ng years!

"Fox are only in it for the cash"

Uh-umm....you DO realize that is the primary reason ANY COMPANY makes a movie right?? Yeah, that means Marvel Studios too...would they keep making these films if they all flopped? Just because they supposedly "care"? Hell no!

@GliderMan

Oh no, it works for Marvel Studios but as you add all of the X-Men, Fantastic Four and Spider Man it gets very crowded.
CherryBomb
CherryBomb - 6/3/2014, 4:06 PM
Saying that Marvel are not in it for the cash is so laughable.
Why do you think they keep their directors on an incredibly tight leash? Because what THEY want is to keep as much in line with their vision and what THEY want because THEY want to make money.
CherryBomb
CherryBomb - 6/3/2014, 4:28 PM
@DurtyTylant

They're good movies, they may not be good X MEN movies but in a shared universe with Marvel, the X-Men would lose everything that makes them special. How can you have the theme of social exclusion with other heroes like Thor and Hulk being praised? It just doesn't work to have them living side by side.

I'd rather have not very good X-Men movies but good movies than good X-Men movies that take away the core values of what makes the X-Men such a compelling story.

I have not seen and will not see any Marvel movie in the theater that is not made by Marvel because I want all the rights back at Marvel and frankly you guys can call me anything you want I don't care because I feel that Marvel was taken advantage of in the first place that is just how I roll . What is up with you guys that think Marvel is only capable of making one or two movies a year .

Technically this may be a sound theory, but it's far too negative and ultimately impractical. And newsflash, every movie studio is in the money-making business, Marvel Studios included. Support good films. Don't support bad films.

As Cherry said, the X-Men films are for the most part good films. They may play loosely with source-material specifics, but as adaptions, I'm pretty happy with what Fox has given us. And I don't see Marvel Studios devoting the same level of attention to the X-Men, besides which I don't need to see them cross over with the Avengers.

Same with Spider-Man. I don't need to see Peter Parker hanging out with the Avengers. My problem with Spidey is not that he's at Sony, but that I don't like what Sony is doing with him. But who knows, there...

The Fantastic Four are the only one of the three big "outside properties" that I really think would fit well with the Avengers, but frankly, I like what I've heard so far about Fox's FF reboot, and if it looks good at its time of release, I'll totally support it without guilt.

thunderforce - 6/3/2014, 5:33 PM
The problem with Fox is it will not be the same . The guy who made the last movie may not even make any more for a while and you know when someone else comes along they will probably not make the movies the same , not like Marvel does .
