Mutant Chronicles Trailer

Mutant Chronicles Trailer

Trailer for the brand spankin' new flick about mutants... Does it look like wholesome fudge brownies, or straight cow dung. YOU DECIDE!

So, IGN dropped the trailer for the new movie starring Thomas Jane and Ron Perlman. It looks to be a hack and slash epic with mutants in it that in no way resemble the mutants in X-Men, they look more like Nosferatu or the infected in Mulberry Street. I am really on the fence with this one. The trailer has a hint of bad assness, but then again looks like too much, and too corny. If it has heads being chopped off, then maybe my ticket is bought already...

I just don't know, so I'ma let you guys decide in the comments section. Is this movie Gone With The Wind or Showgirls, The Dark Knight or Batman & Robin, Godfather 2 or Godfather 3. Place your wages here, in the comments section.

My first reaction is to say what a steaming pile this looks like it will be, but, Tom Jane and John Malkovich are 2 spectacular actors and Ron Pearlman isn't to shabby either. So instead, I just have mixed feelings altogether.

I think it'll be a fun movie...not a great movie but fun...it kinda makes me think Saving Private Ryan of the 23rd century with mutants nazis lol

I believe they spent money on actors to try to make it... I like the actors in it, yet the movie (from all that I have read on the net) isn't very good. I'd still like to view it and see for myself...

Hey guys, I checked IMDB for dates and this is what I found:

Country Date

Russia 7 August 2008

Brazil 13 August 2008 (DVD premiere)

Greece 21 August 2008

Philippines 1 October 2008

UK 10 October 2008

Canada 22 October 2008
(Toronto After Dark Film Festival)

Germany 27 October 2008 (DVD premiere)

Turkey 2 January 2009

South Korea 8 January 2009

United Arab Emirates 8 January 2009

USA 27 March 2009 (TV premiere)

USA 24 April 2009

As to whether I’m gonna see it, hell ya! I’m always up for some senseless violence and action. It looks pretty cool and the main actors are all very good. It ain’t gonna win any oscar’s, but that’s not what it was made for.

The trailer showed me nothing to make me really want to see this. I will definitely rent it for Tom Jane and Ron Perlaman alone though. The only way I would check it out in the theater is if it gets some good reviews.

lol Shaman, could be... haven't seen this one, although Repo has the badly written, badly performed, annoying songs all through the movie. I mean...

SHILO...? IS YOUR NAME SHILO?
CAN I TALK TO YOU?
CAN YOU COME DOWN PLEASE...
SO WE CAN SPEAK?
I SAW YOU AT THE SHOW.
I THOUGHT I’D SEEN A GHOST.
YOUR RESEMBLANCE IS STRIKING.
YOU HAVE YOUR MOTHER’S EYES,
HER HAIR.
I WAS TOLD YOU DIED WITH HER.
ALL THESE YEARS HAVE COME AND GONE.
HOW DO I PUT THIS...?
I’M YOUR GODMOM.

is way too corny (seems like a 4th graders poem homework) and annoying for me, picture that as a song, badly acted and (for me at least) the melodies were just awful. I enjoyed a whole lot more the Dracula opera in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I'll probably end up seeing mutant chronicles and complaining to everyone like crazy.

A huge piece of advice, stay clear from seven pounds (yes the Will Smith one)... that's the worst piece of shit I have seen in many years. That has to be among the worst 3 movies I have seen in my life.

I like the futuristic 1920's feel they have going on but it looks like a mix of Resident Evil and a zombie moive to me. In my opnion I have already seen it.

I hate to sound ethnocentric, but does anyone know why the U.S release is later than the rest of the world? I don't get it, American actors, American production company and it looks like a decent budget, why the late release?

lol ror, didn't you find it funny how they made the worlds first eye transplant... not cornea mind you but the whole eye? no explanation given just, suddenly he has someone elses eyes? But I'll stop there, otherwise I'll be on and on about how terrible that movie is (really I hated that movie with all my heart).

And I know this will be terrible, sort of Conair terrible, but I will still watch it and whine my ass off (it seems to be zombie based and I am sucker for movies with zombies).

Well the release dates have to speak volumes of how bad this is, usually they release it first in the US since it is the biggest market and then they start with the international releases, not only is it shown first outside but Russia, Phillipines and Brazil are countries with huge illegal bootleg industries, to add further insult, in the US it is a TV premiere first?

Apparently the person that staged the release dates knew this would bomb big time. When I see it, it'll be with low expectations, maybe I'll be surprised.

I screened this at comicon 08. It wasn't a finished cut, but I thought it looked beautiful. It was made on a very meager budget from what Jane said, but they still pulled off a cool visual style.

The dialogue is a bit cheesy (ok, crazy, crazy-cheesy at some points) but I still thought it was a fun, action-packed addition to the steam punk genre. The two guys I went with didn't dig it much, and honestly felt about the same as rorschach01 by the end, but I feel solid in saying I had a great time watching it. But I understand why people wouldn't.

And it's true, Jane's the man. Fanboy actors are hard NOT to love and he's definitely that. Him and Pearl were great at the Q&A. You can tell how much he geeks out over all of this.

Yknow noob, i actually didnt cop that! i mean it just didnt register how silly it was until now! Nah it was no masterpiece by any means but i think Will Smith was great in it as was Rosario Dawson..and im a bit of a sucker for a tearjerker!

I just finished watching The Quick And The Dead on tv..its one of those movies that i always remember thinking was bad but end up watching and enjoying every time its on...actually Sharon Stone would have made a good Tulip back in the day i reckon

I'm totally disappointed that they stole this movie from the book series "The Mutant Chronicles" and then take everything that was cool about it and flush it. I pray this straight to DVD adaptation won't hurt the careers of it's fine acting talent. If they would have kept the plot of a space shuttle crew tearing open a hole to another dimension, unleashing hellish demons that secretly begin to invade earth, that is when they will have a movie to be proud of.

LEEE777- What are you talking about??? Punisher IS the property of Marvel and Marvel is responsible in every way for the crap that was made of frank Castle's latest.

Well Noob, i haven't seen either of them and i'm not planning to.

Roar, man i love QUICK AND THE DEAD!!! Probably because i hate Westerns, but to me it had a great cast and Stone was a fox!!! Gene Hackman kicked ass, Russel Crowe was amazing, even Leo dic-cap-reo was decent! But the best guys were of course Lance Henrickson (pitty he died to quickly) and Keith David!!! If you wanna have a laugh and if you're a fan of zombie and western movies, i recently bought "Undead or alive" which was very low budget but i liked it. I had to put my critisist part of me aside for this one but it was enjoyable. I'm just a sucker for Chris Kattan!!! I loved Corky Romano :))

this feels like "I AM LEGEND" but better and futuristic, with a lil bit of "28 days later" and "doomsday" throwing into it.... but i must say it looks promising for a good movie but not great

It makes me think of "Equilibrium", which had bad writing and bad direction, but good acting and a really good central idea.

I actually found it strange that they made this movie fairly recently. Not sure if any of you remember, but as jottfrog mentioned, this movie is based on a book series, which in turn was based on an old CCG "DOOM TROOPERS: The Mutant Chronicles" from the early/mid 90's. Back then I heard they were supposed to make this movie.
