Possible IM2 Easter Eggs that were Overlooked?

Do these easter eggs connect the dots in the Marvel movie universe?

A few days ago CBM member TheWorldIsYours posted an editorial called "I Still Do Not See Why Iron Man 2 was so disliked".

After reading his article and others comments, I began to ponder.
IM2 had flaws just like any other movie, but was a really good and important film regaurdless of the negative criticism.

We all know IM2 had lots of charaters and easter eggs. Some eggs were very obvious while others led us to speculate. This is the reason I felt IM2 was very necessary and important to the Marvel Movie U. IM2 really branched off.

There are two easter eggs I noticed or in a way mentioned that some of you noticed, but others may have overlooked. Both play a big part in the comics and I can see them making a impact in the Marvel Movie U!

The 1st is the possible mention of the QUIN JET!!





Yea I know your like HUH!? when!? where!?..no this one is speculation but a good one.

Before Tony takes to the race track in Monico a guy mentions to Stark about a good idea for a "JET". This could very well be the mention of pre Quin Jet.
I think in the comics Wakanda and Black Panther had a major hand in the creation of the Quin, but we know how things are tweeked in live adaptations.
The Quin Jet was used by the Avengers much like the BlackBird to the X-MEN.
It wouldn't surprise me to see The Quin make an appearance in future Marvel Studio's films.





Ok the 2nd egg is...PROJECT P.E.G.A.S.U.S!



Yesssur! PROJECT P.E.G.A.S.U.S was stamped on the crate that Tony got the equipment out of to create his new element!(tried to find the movie still of the crate but couldn't) P.E.G.A.S.U.S (Potential Energy Group/Alternate Sources/United States) is a scientific government warehouse or base used for reaserch of strange forms of energy. It has been known to once be in possession of objects like the INFINITY GAUNTLET and THE COSMIC CUBE!
It also was used for a prison to keep superhuman villans.
The ultimate version of P.E.G.A.S.U.S was ran by SHIELD, which makes sense for whats occuring now in the Marvel Movie Universe.

It's possible Shield gave Tony access to use materials from Pegasus to make his new element. Fury did seem to want to help Tony.

Also could PROJECT P.E.G.A.S.U.S be the location where Fury Shows Dr. Selvag the Cube!?


I dont know! speculation or not you've got to admit it's POSSIBLE!
go back and give IM2 another peek its loaded and important!!

plus i like iron man 2! dont know why eveyone hates on it. then again i did enjoy transformers 2 too !

yea that is why i loved iron man 2! it does set up alot of things and overall a good movie (still TIH STILL MY FAV MARVEL MOVIE) damn i cant wait though!

i just thought of something! with P.E.G.A.S.U.S in the avengers maybe we will see an ABOMINATION CAMEO! (leading up to a TIH SEQUEL!!) :D

i can only hope!

@Intruder word man i hope we do get to see pegasus. i wonder if thats where the cosmic cube is currently being held and i wonder if thats where Fury shows dr selvge the cube..but yea man look for the crate in IM2

@spider1489 i agree..the TIH was also a nice film..i love the cap references in that..(DR ERSKIN"S NAME ON THE SERUM ROSS GAVE TO BLONSKI)

that would be cool for a quick abomination reference..i wonder who has custody of him and where he's kept

I watched it on a couple days ago, and noticed on the big map at the end, here are actually words under the little circles on it, and I tried to pause and zoom on my DvD player, but my tv sucks so it was really hard to read what it said

it makes since that P.E.G.A.S.U.S would be in the movie since how else will then be able to keep the abomination in custody! THANKS YOU BASICALLY ANSWERED MY QUESTION OF WHAT HAPPEN TO ABOMINATION AT THE END OF TIH ( well i hope that is why!)

if i remember correctly you can also see union jacks real name on the racer line-up during the monaco scene, but i doubt that has any foreshadowing to it

it just says chapman and has a english flag next to it designating his country of origin.

Another one is the passport that the Ten Rings guy gives to Ivan. the name on it is the name of the second Crimson Dynamo in comics.

I noticed it when I first saw the movie, and even mentioned it before on an old article pointing out all the IM2 easter eggs, but no longer have that account

Oracle, Inc. (the dome where the final battle took place) is CEO'd by Namor Mackenzie in Marvel comics.

@HaroldOfGalactus-- except, Oracle is a real company. There is sort of a Namor reference, though. In the beginning, during the opening credits, on Vanko's wall of newspaper clippings, is a newspaper clipping with a picture of a submarine surfacing. On it, it says something in Russian about Atlantis.

Also, in the deleted scenes, Stark mentions Project: P.E.G.A.S.U.S. by name, as well as "Project: Goliath" (Pym particles, maybe?) as well as something else that I can't remember at the moment.

the Namor reference is when Fury is talking to Stark and the map of the world is in the background. there are places marked all over the world on the map that show where other people with super powers are located. one dot is in the middle of the ocean, which is believed to represent Atlantis.

I love all these references and tiny easter eggs BUT a film has to stand on its own merits. It can't just be important because of the info it dishes out on the wider universe.

When you watch IM2, if you were to take out every Marvel Movie Universe, would you still consider it any good?

I know a was really disappointed with it - mainly because I think (and still do) that Ironman 1 is the best of the bunch.

YEA IRONMAN WAS A GOOD STAND ALONE FILM..IM2 WAS DIFF AND A BIGGER STEP IN CONNECTING THE MARVEL MOVIE U..IROMMAN HAS ALWAYS BEEN A CHARACTER THAT HAS MANY CONNECTIONS TO THE MARVEL U..SO I DIDN'T SEE A PROBLEM WITH USING THE SECOND FILM TO EXPAND ON THAT IN LIVE ACTION
