Since Gwen has been done for in the movie universe, who should be Peter’s new love? Most likely it will be Mary Jane Watson but here are 5 alternatives I came up with:
Honourable mention
Kitty Pryde: impossible to do so because of copyright mentions but who knows, Fox and Sony could make a deal to allow this to continue: thinking they could combine their universes in an attempt to combat the MCU. They worked so well in the brief time they were together in Earth-1610 (the Ultimate Universe) that it should have a chance here.
Ursula: No not the one from the Little Mermaid, this one was the daughter of Peter’s landlord in the original trilogy. Basically she had a crush on Peter but was supportive of peter and MJ. I always felt she could have had a bigger role and maybe if they reintroduce her in the new movie universe they could flesh her out.
5. Anya Corazon
I was thinking they could introduce her if they want to introduce a love interest for Peter who could act as his partner as Arana or Spider-Girl. Let her get some spotlight since I don’t think she has appeared in media outside of the comics.
4. Betty Brant
Here me out, you might be surprised but Jameson’s secretary was actually Peter’s first ever love interest in the comics! She could be introduced to help console Peter with what he has went through and there could be some awkwardness with their age gap just like in the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon!
3. Sophia ‘Chat’ Sanduval
From the Marvel Adventures Spider-Man that was intended for younger readers. Not only is she both Peter and Spidey’s girlfriend in the book but she is also a mutant with the power to talk to animals (think of the comedy potential, yeah I do like the comedy in the new films). She could involve herself in both the civilian and hero lives of Peter!

Harry could hire her as an assassin to murder both Spider-Man and Peter Parker (since he now knows his secret) but she ends up falling in love with her target.

Yeah I am one of Missy’s few fans! Before the Amazing Spider-Man was released one of the first few things I found out was that an actress of Hannah Marks would be playing a nerdy girl with a crush on Peter and that got me interested. In the movie I liked the scene where she managed to talk back to Flash “I personally really want him to be Venom in this movie universe” Thompson when he ruined her banner and marvels as Peter humiliates her tormentor. I was really disappointed when she was not featured at all in the sequel (I really liked the sequel and this was one of the few things that actually annoyed me about the film despite all the other stuff people are complaining about that I don’t really mind or think it is that bad). She could console Peter after they meet up again for the first time since Peter stood up for her. I know she was never in the comics and was created for the movie but give her the right opportunities and she could become the next Coulson.............okay maybe not but she could do a lot if given the chance!
