The Future of The MCU Part 3 of 3

Find out my thoughts on Phase 3 films, the Netflix series and how REDEMPTION plays a factor.

Besides the announcement of Ant-Man and common sense of Avengers 3, I feel there will be 3 other films in Phase 3: Inhumans, Doctor Strange, and Black Panther. Along with the Netflix series, all of these will have the theme of REDEMPTION.

Doctor Strange:
This will pretty much be the usual origin film there. I do believe that like the animated Doctor Strange movie, he will not be able to save someone through medicine. Which then all leads up to the end of the film where he does save the world. Another aspect of REDEMPTION. I would think that for the first film, Marvel would just use Baron Mondo with maybe Dormammu being behind the scenes. Also, I feel that Eye of Agamotto will be an Infinity Gem, probably The Soul Gem.

Inhumans:
Just like Doctor Strange, it will be an origin film or a film about Inhumans living among us. I could see the "Inhumanity" story line get adapted. The Terrigan Mists could be an extension of the Mind Gem. Black Bolt will be removed as king, but in the end return as king.

Black Panther:
Another origin film like most of Phase 3. T'Challa father will die in battle, while T'Challa is away after a fight with his father. Typical story line of being the son that never lived up to his hype/destiny. T'Challa grows to become the hero he is destined to become at the end. I guess have a modern update to Klaw here.

I could also see Ka-Zar being a film that also gets made into a film. I would see that the whole film making you feel like this is in the past until the last five minutes where you realize that its in the present time. I also can see a "Lost World" type story, where adventurers discover the Savage Land. If this movie happens, I could see the Reality Gem being part of it.

Avengers 3:
Guardians, Avengers with background cameos by Black Panther and Doctor Strange and The Defenders vs. Thanos. After events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, society and the government distrusted and are hunting the Avengers. Thanos comes to Earth, with the Infinity Gauntlet and Gems. Earth is the battleground, and in the end Thanos is defeated, reality is restored and the Avengers are once again respected.

Netflix series, all of them have the common thread of street level heroes and REDEMPTION, with each heroes having some sort of event that they need to overcome.

Thanks for reading and any comments and discussions are always appreciated.

I still don't think that Thanos will be the villain of Avengers 3. Also, I think that the Aether was the Reality Gem with it granting Malekith the wish to turn back the universe. I think that the Power Gem will be in Inhumans and the Soul Gem will be in Thor 3 in power of Hela.

HI. New guy here. I agree with the guy who said, Thanos will not be the Primary antagonist ...mostly because I believe the Thanos story will wrap in its own crossover movie AFTER Avengers 3. The thought process being that there is a reason all of these characters are being introduced via three forms of media. There is a reason that there is a primary heavyhitter team, A ragtag team of space criminals,a street level team being formed called The Defenders, and there is a reason that AoS is starting to tap into what looks like the origins of one maybe two comic book characters. Same reason Winter Soldier, War Machine, and Falcon is important. Same reason that you are going to need TWO fully suited Ant-Men and a Wasp: it is going to take more than just one team of Earthest mightiest heroes to take on a massive intergalatic threat that has been built up through numerous blockbusters. It is going to take an army of heroes from across the universe. It needs to be HUGE and a battle fought on different fronts. These projects are not just random projects, I have faith that Marvel are going to raise the bar even higher with a huge risk. And if I were a casual movie goer paying to see Avengers 3 advertised as an Avengers film and had the Avengers sharing screentime with the whole Marvel Universe, I would be upset. However, if I were to pay to see "Marvel Studios presents The Infinity Gauntlet" advertised as a HUGE crossover event featuring the whole cinematic universe teaming together against a common threat? Count me in line like yesterday. And seeing that a rival company has three iconi brand names that while playing catch up at this moment, if they stumble onto a solid formula have great potential to be a major threat to the MCU, I think the likelyhood of such a crossover to not only remain in the lead but crush any JLA attempts is pretty darn good. With so many companies looking to replicate their sucess, if Marvel doesn't try outdo themselves and rest on their laurels, eventually a rival company WILL outdo them (probably Warner Bros. because of the power that Supes, Bats, and have in name alone ...also the sheer fact that Warner/ D.C seem to get that they SHOULD have come with this idea a long time ago and they are definitely trying to bridge that gap right now. They have the tools to suceed.} So yeah, that is why I don't think Thanos will be the villain in Avengers 3 but instead the big bad in a huge storyline ending crossover. BTW, sorry that this is all one paragraph with several run ons. I wrote this on the X Box.

Yea it's clearly obvious Thanos will be the villain is Avengers 3. They wouldn't tease him in the first movie or even think about throwing the infinity stones in the other movies for no reason. Yea a masters of evil movie would be awesome, but they are nothing compared to the might of the mad titan. Just sayin.

I'm looking forward to the Doctor Strange film. Not sure if a Ka Zar film will be in the works i mean why not expand the cosmic MCU? Have a GOTG sequel to include Richard Ryder, Adam Warlock, Bug, Kree ect.

@objectivelbased... I think you are 100% correct that all of this will tie together on multiple levels. There are so many ways to go, say the Defenders and other lesser powered heroes fight off another invasion of earth while the bigger hitters are facing Thanos. Marvel is absolutely laying the frame work for an enourmous confrontation that will culminate in its own movie.

We will get Nova long befor ka-zar. If the Winter Soldier and Guardians aproach IM3 money then I fully expect Marvel to up their movie output to 3 a year. What NEEDS to happen is AoS ratings to go back up and the Netflix shows to do well. I think AoS's biggest stumble was the very weak Thor episode. Im a fan of thr show and I think its important to the bigger MCU but that episode had a chance to REALLY boost the show and solidify its audience. It was a huge let down.

I mean one film and yes, I did consider that cramming everyone into one film doesn't equal... most cases it is the oppossite. But I think the exception would be Return of the King ...because we already knew most, if not all of those characters before the film started. That would be the same case here. We already got to know these characters in their own movie so I think balancing them would be managable and keep in mind that some would be cameos, most will be supporting with a select few being the frodos, Aragorns, and Gandophs. Like I wouldn't have the AoS cast barring Coulson in more than a quick battle scene to show that all of SHIELD is fighting. Heck, by this point with the threat being so huge Fury and Hill probably won't need to be in a whole lot of scenes.

As far as budgets go ...as long as large profit is guaranteed and at this point in time it is, Disney has the resources and will pay ...especially if there is a chance of breaking into Cameron territory. Now, we know who A LOT of that budget would be going to but I am not so sure that RDJ not wanting to play Iron man is all about money or he does not want to be typecast. By the time we get to this Iron Man might have died ...hopefully at the hands of Thanos to lead into this film. If there is no RDJ then that frees up the budget to pay the next level of stars more to reprise. I believe Rudd Johanson, Douglas and Jackson have the the next highest price tags. Evans and Hemsworth and Ruffalo should be mandatory if RDJ is gone ...and should be offered whatever keeps them ...especially Evans. If you don't have either Iron Man or Cap the story does not work. But the other two are almost just as important. The TV actors and wrestlers are easy to afford. But honestly I can see them paying RDJ whatever to get him on for one last film. Again, Disney will make it work if there is a major upside. You know I should probably just write this in an editorial explaining how and why a project like this could work and how I would expect it to play out. But it would definitely need to show all of the heroes charging out New York to battle ...then cut to the city watching in wonder ...then focusing on Patton Oswalt with a single tear of joy in his eye. Best cameo they would ever be able to do.

If Depp gets the role, more power to him. I just hope they have a good writer/director for that movie or we could end up with another Pirates 4/The Lone Ranger. I feel Phase 3 is the hardest to figure out what they are going to do.
