Best known for playing Batman in Tim Burton's Batman and Batman Returns (younger readers may instead remember him from the Academy Award winning Pixar movie Toy Story 3 in which he voiced 'Ken'), Michael Keaton has now joined the cast of RoboCop as the villainous CEO of Omni Corp, 'Raymond Sellars'. "Michael is the final addition to the amazing cast we have assembled for this film and it is so great to have the last puzzle piece in place. It is thrilling that everything has come together to bring this innovative new vision of RoboCop to life. We’ve got a great script, a great cast, some killer ED-209’s and I can’t wait to get Alex Murphy back on the streets," said director Jose Padilha. The actor will star opposite Joel Kinnaman, Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman and Abbie Cornish in the remake. RoboCop is currently expected to be released on August 9th, 2013.

Yeah. I can get behind this. Especially if he's playing Clarence Bodiker (or whatever they call him). I could also see him playing Dick Jones. And call me old fashioned, but I still like his Batman best (notice I said Batman. Still liked Nolan's movies better).

Keaton was a terrible Batman/Wayne imo.

Why? because there was little difference between Batman and Bruce Wayne for him. Its this solemn shit THE WHOLE TIME. Thats Batman, NOT Bruce Wayne. To be Bruce Wayne, you have to portray emotion. You have to act to pull off the diversified feelings of the Bruce Wayne character.

You CANNOT act Batman and Bruce Wayne the same way.

I still CANNOT understand what people see in this guy. He amounted to nothing these days and seeing people prefer him over Bale has me confused.

But yeah, thats me. Keaton sucks

I liked his Batman, have to agree with The Wonderer on his Wayne, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a great performance. But he's brilliant in everything he's in anyway, can't wait to see this.

@the wonderer It's because he was the first to portray that type of Batman on screen. No one knew quite what to expect when Keaton was announced for the role, and since he had primarily been a comedic actor prior to that, I for one expected it to suck. The man blew it out of the park. I guess you had to be there. Just picture Adam West's Batman as the only Batman we'd seen on film before Keatons' and you'll understand why we like him so much.

You're the first person I've EVER heard make such a statement. Even my non comic book friends credit him for his portrayal. They hold him second to Bale (& Bale only wins because he has the looks & physical stature)

When it said a former Batman I figured it would have to be Keaton. I wouldn't go as far to say he is best known for his role of Batman, though that may be true within the CBM world. Amongst the average person I would say he is more known for Beetlejuice, Mr. Mom and one of my favorites, Night Shift. All opinion, I guess.

I also disagree with thewonderer, but most of what he throws out here I disagree with. :-P
