This example represents one of the most distinctive, technically and structurally advanced private theatres in the United States. The client insisted upon a unique and specific set of criteria including extremely high volume levels within a tasteful and highly-detailed Star Trek-themed architecture. Other technical assemblies unique to residential environments include motorized sliding doors, intelligent concert-type lighting and related DMX512 controls, and commercial-level HVAC, all coexisting seamlessly and reliably for a typical homeowner.

Guests can beam up to a total theatre experience. Captain’s chair provides total control via 15" touchscreen. Information "panels" conceal media storage for thousands of DVDs.

If I had a room like that, I would never leave (as long as it had a food replicator and a head).

This is pretty sweet, even though I'm not the biggest trekkie out there.

The issue is also shown in the film Trekkies 2, in which a Star Trek fan recounts a supposed incident during a Star Trek convention where Gene Roddenberry used the term "trekkies" to describe fans of the show, only to be corrected by a fan that stood up and yelled "Trekkers!" Gene Roddenberry, allegedly, responded with "No, it's trekkies. I should know, I invented the thing."

I'm actually starting to like Star Trek more than Star Wars. This theater is what I'm talking about. How 'bout a Tron-themed home theater? I want that.

agreed, I would much rather have a DC or Marvel theme theater, but that said? whoever was talented enough to put that together? if I had the cash I'd hire them in a second! fantastic attention to detail. outstanding work.

Just for the record. That setup cost about $3,000,000, but don't be discouraged by it. You could build your own on a much smaller scale and a much smaller budget (less than $15,000) as shown below:

@dellamorte1872 Trekies are obsessed but fun loving fans. Trekkers are obsessed snootie fans that think the word trekker makes them seem more serious. The rest and vast majority of the people don't have a label and just like the shows/movies

The next Generation Bridge lent itself very well to a home theater since it has a bunch of chairs all lined up already. Unfortunately classic trek wouldn't do well for a home theater. They must have a popcorn dispensor hooked to a mock up replicator somewhere. Perhaps a vending machine imbedded into the wall with a touch screen control?

Am I a Trekkie? Yes. Next Generation fan? Sort of.

The home theater looks good. However, there should be cup holders at the least.

@Ichaos- The Original Series bridge could work for a home theater depending on how many people intend on using the space. It is all a matter of visual-spatial problem solving.
