Cumberbatch is NEITHER Khan nor Gary Mitchell?

I was browsing twitter and came across a rather vague tweet from Bob Orci regarding the whole "Khan or Gary Mitchell" controversy. Hit the jump for details!

Greetings everyone, ok. "Khan or Gary Mitchell?" that has been the question for quite some time now...some even going so far as to saying they believed Mr. Cumberbatch's character might be an amalgamation of the two. Well, while going through Bob Orci's twitter account, one user was very forward and asked whether the villain is Khan or Gary Mitchell.

And what per se was Mr. Orci's response?

"I'm not familiar with those two gentlemen"

Could this be Bob Orci's vague way of dismissing those two as the potential villain?

Perhaps all this talk and speculation revolving around Khan and Gary Mitchell was just a way to mask who the REAL villain is?

Your guess is as good as mine and we probably really won't find out until the movie is released. Everyone close to the production have been super-secret about the true identity of Cumberbatch's character in the film.

Post your feedback down below and let's try to figure out, if not Khan or Gary Mitchell, who else could the villain possibly be?

I put this in the "Features" section because I wasn't sure if this could go in the "Scoops" section. If I was mistaken for placing here in Features, my apologies in advance and I will correct it.

It's fine bro. You might want to fix up the article (add some HTML) and perhaps just a bit more content to it. Other than that it's good.

Thanks @superotherside, HTML...hmmmm...let me try :)

@JokerFan- So maybe he is just trying to ward us off the path? Damn Orci, i really figured he was trying to subtly tell us it will be a different villain. Hope I'm right though :)

Garth of Izar maybe.
JJ is a Star Wars fan: Garth = Darth
Plus Garth would have reason to want vengeance on Star Fleet.

Or playing the son of Peter Weller's character.

From Memory Alpha

Garth of Izar was a decorated, highly-regarded officer in the Federation Starfleet, who rose to rank of Fleet Captain in the course of his service through the mid-23rd century. His career dissolved in a dramatic descent into madness and attempted genocide, resulting in his commitment to the Elba II asylum for the criminally insane.

His legacy was tarnished following the accident that left him badly maimed. The gentle beings of Antos IV nursed him in his darkest hour, and gifted him with their technique of cellular metamorphosis to repair his mangled body. In gratitude, he "offered them the galaxy" – an offer refused. By this point, he was no longer the honored Captain of the history books, and his diseased mind found such offense in Antos' rejection that he ordered his forces to annihilate the entire species. Whatever loyalty he once inspired in his crews vanished, and they refused his order. Federation authorities deemed it appropriate that Garth be sent to an asylum for the criminally insane. By 2269, he was a ward of Elba II.

Lol Mystery crap? I remember the good old days when all you had was a trailer for the movie and thats all, some promotion here and there but the over abundance of information just kills movies now days. Lets take the TDKR for example the whole scene in the stadium did not have the same impact in the movie.

The revelation that Tate was Talia wasn't a surprise when it was known well before hand (although to be honest even with out being spoiled it was just kinda obvious). So you know what I am all for mystery some times they work some times they don't

and it could easily be an absolutely new creation who has a bit Gary Mitchell and Khan mixed in him. This a whole new time line after all so anything goes.

I'm moving this to Scoops. Jim Littler emailed with me and said it belongs there. I don't know who put this in the Editorials section but it definitely doesn't belong here.
