In Summer 2013, director J.J. Abrams will deliver an explosive action thriller that takes Star Trek Into Darkness.

In the wake of a shocking act of terror from within their own organization, the crew of The Enterprise is called back home to Earth. In defiance of regulations and with a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads his crew on a manhunt to capture an unstoppable force of destruction and bring those responsible to justice.

As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

Star Trek Into Darkness stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller, and will warp into theaters on May 17th, 2013.

Haha they got rid of that "one man weapon of mass destruction" tidbit cause they got tired of everyone saying its Gary Mitchell. I think its Sybok, although I'll be a little disappointed if they recycled the villain from the worst Star Trek movie.

@SotoJuiceMan- That would be cool but it still wouldn't explain how he's able to jump like 20 feet in the air.

What if John Harrison is a Klingon sleeper agent like in the movie Salt? Everything about his appearance and demeanor is so opposite the typical Klingon, it would be an ideal way for anyone to not suspect him being a Klingon. However, it does seem though that eugenics is going to be involved somehow. And there is still the question of who Peter Weller is playing.

I seriously think Noel Clarke is playing Dr Daystrom. Perhaps John Harrison saves Daystrom's daughter in exchange for computer codes or a way to access Starfleet computers?

@6of13- It's been my hope Cumberbatch was an undercover Klingon much like Arne Darvin from TOS but then in the trailer he was beating down Klingons...so...there went that theory still though...there is hope

Hoping that Cumberbatch's, John Harrison, is the kid that Kirk yelled "Hey Johnny!" to while joyriding from the first film (that would make it personal and probably a friend). Just my two cents.

Maybe he goes rogue or it's part of his cover. He could be an augment, just hopefully, not Khan.

I really don't think John Harrison is really Khan because we have been told that we will empathize with his character and Khan is pretty much is one-dimensional in that he is looking for absolute power (and later on in getting revenge on Kirk for abandoning him on Ceti Alpha V). Khan is not really a villain that would be emphasized with.

I know it's the wrong era of Star Trek, but is it possible he's playing Q? Or a Q-Like being (like Trelane)?

The glass prison clip could be a red herring, where the full scene may show him easily slipping out of the prison.

IDK I'm just throwing things out there.

I dont think hes a Q...q's are godlike beings and a mere prison would be no problem. Come to think of it, the whole fleet would be no problem....

Garth of Izar! He destroyed his fleet...and attempted to commit genocide. Though it's probably not, it would be cool.

He could be some one important form the other universe... Entering this universe... U know the alternative universe thing... He could be of any relation to Kirk ... or KHAN!
& that key lead into KHAN for 3rd film!

But i strongly feel; as Kirk in first film met Old Spock from alternate universe... Some one else; extremely intelligent, can come across & be a baddie here; like in first; but this time deliberately!!

@6of13- Yeah no it's definitely not Khan, thank god. Another augment would be ok because they had like...no attention when compared to Khan plus maybe focusing on a brand new Augment could be a cool thing. I mean, Nero was a Romulan and obviously Romulans appeared all throughout the different Star Trek shows, but at least Nero wasn't based on a SPECIFIC Romulan...so it was ok. Cumberbatch playing a new Augment would be the same thing as that in my opinion.

But he's definitely not Khan. I don't even honestly believe he'll be an Augment though.
