MTV sat down with Simon Pegg for an interview about
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. During the sit down they asked him about his involvement with J.J. Abrams upcoming sequel to 2009's
Star Trek. Pegg said he know what the general story is for the film, and says that he hasn't heard the name Khan appear anywhere.
On Peter Weller and Alice Eve joining the cast: "Very excited to work with Robocop, and Alice I have worked with before and she is an absolute gorgeous girl."
On who Weller and Eve are playing: "I don't know, I honestly don't. I know there is a large group sex scene with Scotty and some green chicks. That's all I know, which was my condition for doing the film."
On if he has read the story and if its good: "Yes I have(read the story), and of course it's good."
On if Khan's name appears in the story: "I honestly don't know that, and that's not be defusing the question. I haven't heard the name Khan come up. That's not to say that it wont come up, but I have heard no mention of the name."
On the character of Khan: "He is a great villain. I don't want to say too much just in case he is in the film, then I have to eat my words as I often have to do. We've seen Khan, Ricardo Montalbán's Khan, and how much value there is in seeing him again I don't know."
Now this doesn't completely rule out that Khan will be in the film. As Pegg said it just because he hasn't seen his name in the story doesn't mean that he won't make an appearance. Leave your comments in the comment boxes on if you think Khan will in fact show up in the film. Star Trek 2 will be released on May 17, 2013.
