It's the final frontier for Leonard Nimoy, as the Star Trek icon attended his last 'Star Trek' convention on Sunday.

The 80-year-old actor is best-known for playing Mr Spock in the original TV series that began in September 1966.
He later played the same role in several Star Trek films

In 2009, he once again reprised the role, appearing as 'Spock Prime' in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek remake.
He formed four fingers into a V for Vulcan sign and intoned to fans the character's most famous phrase: 'Live long and prosper.'
Nimoy has said the convention in the suburban Chicago town of Rosemont celebrating the 45th anniversary of 'Star Trek' would be his last.

He spoke for an hour about his life and career, and thanked fans for their support over the years.
Some held signs saying: 'We love you Leonard! Live long & prosper.'

Creation Entertainment organizes the 'Star Trek' conventions.
Its CEO, Adam Malin, said the company has toured and collaborated with Mr Nimoy for nearly three decades and that the actor 'will be missed.'
