CBS All Access brought the heat to its New York Comic-Con panel today as it debuted three new trailers and revealed tons of new details about each of their upcoming Star Trek-universe series.

The hotly-awaited Star Trek: Picard, which will feature the return of Sir Patrick Stewart (Logan) as the legendary Jean-Luc Picard, was undoubtedly the showstopper of the day as it was formally announced the series would premiere on January 23, 2020, with new episodes, from the ten-episode freshman season, arriving every Thursday.

Additionally, it was confirmed that Star Trek: Discovery would return for its third season in 2020.

It was also announced that new installments of Star Trek: Short Treks would begin streaming today. The first short follows Ensign Spock’s (Ethan Peck) first day aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise, which doesn’t go as planned when he and Number One (Rebecca Romijn) are unexpectedly stuck together in a turbo lift.

@sneakybastard - For the sake of clarification, this excitement was for Picard and Picard only. I have no liking for those two.

It's probably a good thing I can't watch the trailer, because I don't really want to see anymore of Picard before it's out. Easily one of my most anticipated upcoming shows!

Also probably the one with the most potential for disappointment, but I don't want to think about that now.

Am I meant to believe that Michael braided her hair by herself?

Picard looks very good. I'm just hoping none of the Kurtzman-shoot em up with phasers because AcTiOn-Trek is present. I want slower moments. Like in The Next Generation

@SmokingMan - Did you miss Seven dual wielding phaser rifles? And Picard in a sword fight? I fear it’s gonna be as dumb as Discovery.

@BloopBlorp2 - No, I didn't miss those. They disappointed me lol although, Picard in a sword fight is fitting. He's always a classy character. If it's a fencing style duel, I'd be ok. My fear as well is it'll be as dumb as STD.

@MadKingCipher - Sure, but it was tasteful, and wasn't overdone. This looks like phasers! Photons!! End of the world!!! SPLOSIONS!!! And that isn't Trek. Space exploration, diplomacy, figuring out differences, charting new anomalies, etc. that's the Trek that's been dead since, well I guess Voyager ended. But it was at it's peak in TNG. That being said Star Trek Beyond gave me a little hope for a while. It was the most Trekky thing I'd seen in a long time. Alas, it was a fluke.

@MadKingCipher - I had that theory a while back about action just for the trailer's sake. I'd love this to be the TNG's Undiscovered Country. What a beautiful movie and proper send off for TOS crew.
