When the decision was made to reboot the cult Sci-fi show Star Trek was announced, it was very much an idea that split fan boys down the middle. But when 2009 swung around, with fan favorite director JJ Abrams behind the camera, some people (but nowhere close to all) opinions were changed about the reboot.
During the Filming of Star Trek, Abrams intended to put the original Captain James Tiberius Kirk, William Shatner in a brief cameo as his future self. Shatner was not satisfied with such a brief cameo, he walked.
Now with the news that its sequel is green lit without a glance at the script from the studio, Shatner was once again questioned by
THE HERALD SUN about possibly having a role in
Star Trek 2, and it doesn't seem likely
“I would be so interested in doing it, especially with that wonderful director JJ Abrams, but I don’t see how it’s possible and maybe we all have gone beyond that,” he says.
“But I have shot a wonderful documentary where I talk to all the captains of Star Trek and try to find a common denominator and in the meantime have some fun talking to them about them and their lives.”
