To start off, I must say that this deleted scene is so cool!
But I still do not know where it would fit into the continuity of Return of the Jedi.
Perhaps at the very beginning of the film and right after the crawl might be a good fit, but that wouldn't make sense because there is ALWAYS a space scene immediately after the crawl.
Maybe this scene is a better fit at the end of the credits of The Empire Strikes Back a la all the added scenes in the Marvel movies that come out now.
I think this may be the best fit of the two.
Also, why hasn't this scene been released before?
And if this was just "found" recently, then how many other cool scenes like this were "found" along with it?
Bottom line, is that George Lucas will get my money when the Blu Ray set comes out in Fall of 2011 because I am a fanboy and I cannot help myself.
But I want more though, I want more deleted scenes like this one plus a ton of special features in order to make my next Star Wars Saga purchase worth the $300 I expect it to cost.
