SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME TV Spots Feature Spectacular Shots Of Mysterio; Amazing Chinese Posters Released

Marvel Studios has released a couple of new TV spots for Spider-Man: Far From Home which show the wall-crawler swinging through New York City, along with some iconic shots of Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio...

We'll get the first social media reactions for Spider-Man: Far From Home on Wednesday, and based on early buzz for the Sony Pictures/Marvel Studios sequel, it's going to be a huge hit (and quite possibly the first Spider-Man movie to make over $1 billion).

Now, more TV spots have been revealed and these shine a spotlight on both the web-slinger and Mysterio. The former can be seen swinging through New York City in his Advanced suit in scenes that definitely bring back fond memories of Sam Raimi's trilogy. As for Quentin Beck, there are brief shots of him pulling off some iconic comic book poses!

While we've seen a fair bit of footage from Spider-Man: Far From Home, there's still an awful lot we don't know and with rumours swirling about a variety of topics (including cameos and plot twists), July can't get here soon enough. However, with a Chinese release date set for June 28th, you can expect spoilers to start popping up online before July 2nd rolls around.

This TV spot isn't all we have for you, though, as a series of Chinese posters have also been released, and they're all equally spectacular!

I'm pretty sure we won't see Spider-Man using his Iron Spider armour like this in the movie but it's going to be great seeing that in a grounded setting after the wall-crawler took it into outer space.

This shot of the hero is clearly based on the one from the trailer in which he glides down to London Bridge to battle Molten Man (and presumably Mysterio if he's outed as a villain by this point).

Spider-Man won't visit China in Far From Home but it has been confirmed that he'll visit everywhere from Venice to Prague during the field trip he goes on alongside his high school friends.

Why is Spider-Man's homemade suit pictured here? It's hard to imagine it making a return in this sequel and it could just be the artist wanted to include all of his costumes on these posters.

Finally, we have this classic costume which was first gifted to him in Captain America: Civil War by Tony Stark. As of right now, we're not sure how much screentime it will have in this sequel.

Peter Parker's new suit is being featured heavily in marketing materials and it's easy to see why; it looks spectacular! What we don't know is whether this was one of Iron Man's final creations before his death or if Spidey is about to start making his own costumes using his deceased mentor's technology.

Is this Nick Fury or Chameleon in disguise? Speculation continues to run rampant, but just like Marvel Studios surprised us by making the Skrulls the heroes, it seems that may be too obvious.

An alternative possibility is that this is an evil Nick Fury who hails from Quentin Beck's world!

While there's nothing wrong with Marvel Studios doing something new with Mary Jane Watson in the MCU, that "MJ" reveal at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming was kind of cringeworthy. Regardless, Peter's romance with his classmate looks set to continue in this sequel and it will be interesting to find out if Michelle ends up getting any closer to her comic book counterpart here.

As of right now, Mysterio is a very...mysterious character!

His powers appear to be magic-based and he claims to be from an alternate Earth (one comic book fans know is also home to Spider-UK). While he's being portrayed as a hero in Far From Home, there's clearly more to Quentin Beck than meets the eye and we should expect some big twists.

The contrast here is very different. While Sony Pictures clearly isnt putting a huge amount of effort into the posters for Spider-Man: Far From Home, the first highlight's the wall-crawler's emblem, while the second puts the spotlight on Mysterio's mystical powers. It's now hard not to wonder whether Marvel Studios is considering delving into the magical side of Peter's powers during this tale.

China likes it when the USA acknowledges their culture....even if they don't in the actual film?

Really odd, I agree.

@mastakilla39 - Like when Iron Man 3 filmed specific scenes for the Chinese release that we didn't get to see in the US. I feel like China purposely does it to brag. Like hey we forced the US to do this for us in a movie!

I like how all the poso came together to form one by the end.

And the shots of Spidey gliding are awesome.

Odd posters but they certainly beat all the other ones.

They are really promoting the multiple suits thing fairly heavily. Guess they saw a spike in interest after they started revealing the new suits

@Vigor - Actually Kevin Feige mentioned this during the Iron Man 3 press tour. When he was growing up and the Batman movies were the big deal they had so many toys of suits like Scuba Diver Batman but he was never in the movie. So he said for the MCU he wants kids to pick up a toy of a "Stealth Suit Iron Man" and say "Hey that one was in the movie!" As an example.

Gotta admit, I love the shots of him back flipping off of the Stark Jet and the one of him gliding towards the garden rooftop.

Posters are weird as [frick].

These posters are all better than the official USA ones. God, those are hideous.

Man they are really working overtime to keep that logo out of frame for that new tower in New York.

@SpideyPuffsMJ - I'm curious as to how they will play the whole Oscorp thing going forward. Thus far only The Avengers films acknowledge Spiderman. None of the other solo films have mentioned anything pertaining to his adventures. Since Dr. Strange features heavily in NY and has shown shots of The avengers tower. I wonder if Sony will allow Disney to use Oscorp in other films?

@SonOfAGif - why would any other solo film say anything to pertaining to his adventures? His stories are so small scaled. He only gets some exposure by the avengers because of his connection through Stark. Dr Strange is literally his own thing with no need to shoe horn in anything about spiders adventures just yet. Guardians, Thor and Black Panther speak for themselves.. they are no where near new york

@SpideyPuffsMJ - if the rumours are true then Tony sold Avengers tower to Peter’s greatest nemesis. Talk about creating your own demons...

Let's pretend Mysterio is from another Earth for one second. That bitch waited till 2023 to reveal himself. Had he done it earlier The Avengers could have gathered the stones from his world/dimension to combat Thanos.

@SonOfAGif - if he truly is from another dimension I'd guess he came to this world due to him somehow hijacking the avengers of his time quantum time machine
