SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE Concept Art Offers New Look At Spider-Man Unlimited And Bombastic Bag Man

After Peter Parker successfully rid himself of what would later become known as the Venom symbiote, he was left without a costume to swing home in. Mister Fantastic had helped remove the alien, and the Human Torch...well, he gave Spider-Man an old Fantastic Four uniform along with a paper bag.

That costume has since become known as the "Bombastic Bag Man," but did you spot the wall-crawling Variant in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Thanks to concept artist Kris Anka, we have a closer look at his designs for this Spidey, though we're sure you'll notice one glaring omission: there's no Fantastic Four logo! Whether Sony Pictures asked Marvel Studios for permission to use that is unclear.

However, we see here it never factored into Anka's early designs, so we'd imagine that was a result of complicated rights issues.

Oh, and if you did spot the Bombastic Bag Man attempting to take Miles Morales down alongside the rest of the Spider-Society, we have another Easter Egg for you. Anka has confirmed he also designed the movie's Spider-Man Unlimited, a version of the character who appeared in a short-lived animated series.

You can take a closer look at both Spidey Variants (via Toonado.com) in the Tweets below.

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn's full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.

But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now playing in theaters.

I really enjoyed Spider-Man unlimited when it aired. Everything about it really worked, even though it had multiple limitation with design they could use. They had to even design a new suit in order to use this character.

The Spider-Man Unlimited suit holds up so well.

The scene in which Spider-Man unlimited misses the punch and it lands on Cyborg Spider-Woman instead was a metaphor for how the show missed the mark as well. Personally, I've always liked the show, its what got me into the cosmic side of marvel comics.

I wish they'd finish that show. Spider-Man Unlimited needs another season to wrap up. Since they got X-MEN coming back maybes there's hope?
