SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE Concept Art Reveals Very Different Take On The Sequel's Prowler

Newly revealed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse concept art has revealed a completely different take on Miles G. Morales, confirming the Variant wasn't always going to suit up as Earth-42's Prowler...

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse concluded by taking Miles Morales to Earth-42, the home of Miles G. Morales. That reality's spider bit Earth-1610's Miles Morales in the first movie, robbing its world of a Spider-Man who could fend off the Sinister Six Cartel.

As for that Miles Variant, he became the Prowler in place of his uncle and the movie ended with Spidey trapped by the apparent villain (who we've since learned is likely a vigilante rather than a full-blown baddie).

It was quite the cliffhanger, and new concept art from Kris Anka confirms the sequel's creative team considered a huge number of different looks for Miles G. Rather than suiting up as the Prowler, it seems he was once going to be a newly created vigilante, though there are a few examples here which appear to be very Spider-Man-inspired.

Ultimately, Across the Spider-Verse arguably made the right decision by delivering that Prowler twist and we can't wait to see what happens next...even if it's now abundantly clear Beyond the Spider-Verse isn't swinging into theaters next March as planned.

Take a look at Anka's alternate designs (via Toonado.com) below.

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn's full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.

But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

The movie stars Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Karan Soni, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Oscar Isaac.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now playing in theaters.

Suit is TOUGH. Love the orange and black. Big cyberpunk vibes with some of the mask designs he shows deeper in the thread.
