SPIDER-MAN: BEYOND THE SPIDER-VERSE Cast And Crew Uncertain Threequel Will Meet Planned 2024 Release Date

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is scheduled to arrive in theaters next March, but comments from the directors, producers, and even star Hailee Steinfeld, appear to cast doubt on it making that date.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was released in 2018, meaning we waited just shy of five years for Across the Spider-Verse

Beyond the Spider-Verse will wrap up this trilogy after the latest movie's big cliffhanger ending and, as of now, we have less than a year to go before it arrives in theaters on March 29, 2024. However, fans are becoming increasingly concerned that the threequel could struggle to meet its planned release date.

As we first reported on Toonado.com, directors Joaquim Dos Santos and Justin K. Thompson recently admitted to Variety that they have no idea if Beyond the Spider-Verse will be released on time.

"We’re all excited to at least get a breather for now," Thompson said before Dos Santos added, "'Beyond' doesn’t happen if everybody didn’t believe to make this film as good as it could possibly be."

While a Sony rep assured Rolling Stone that the movie remains on track for its March 2024 debut, producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller largely dodged the question when asked if they're confident in the movie's release date.

"We’re far along," Miller started. "That said, you know, there’s still a lot of work to do." Lord later added, "All we can do is keep working on things until we feel that they are great."

Casting further doubt on Beyond the Spider-Verse's current status are comments from Spider-Gwen actress Hailee Steinfeld in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "Uh, nope!" she laughed when asked if she's recorded any dialogue yet. "As you can imagine, this has been an ongoing thing since the moment the first one came out."

"There’s been so much focus, and everyone’s blood, sweat, and tears has been put into making this the most incredible and best version of itself that it can be."

Throw in the fact some scoopers are already hinting at a delay and we're really not sure the trilogy will end as planned next March. With any luck, though, it will make its way into theaters in 2024 rather than slipping into 2025.

They can take as much time as they need to get at as right as the first two

That's okay. As long as it's as good as it can be.

IDC Let them cook!!

They have a chance to make this the best CBM trilogy ever with each entry being a legitimately top tier film. This is something we haven't gotten yet imo

I feel like Hailee only said she hadn't recorded any dialogue because she wasn't sure what she was allowed to reveal. Because if the cast had literally not recorded anything, then that would mean they haven't even started animating it, which would mean there is zero chance of it coming out in a year. If it really is "far along" like Miller says then they definitely have recorded the dialogue.

@Boyle360 - I’m sure that they have enough reference material to rapidly animate for dialogue. It’s the distinct art styles, character designs, and action set pieces (mostly the action) that would hold them up.

Regardless, I get the impression that Lord/Miller probably do a lot of last minute script/dialogue revisions which they’re forbidden from with WGA strike.

Yeah, I dont see the movie coming out in just 10 months...a Holiday release seems likely.

Zero chance it comes out next year.
Push it to 2025 and have it join the
most prominent year for CBMs.
Nolanite out.
