MORBIUS Reshoots Reportedly Talking Place To Include More Of Michael Keaton's Adrian Toomes/Vulture

After Michael Keaton recently revealed that he was heading back to shoot some new Adrian Toomes content, it's come to light that those scenes aren't for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Read on for details...

A recent talk show appearance saw Michael Keaton reveal he was getting ready to shoot something Vulture-related for an undisclosed upcoming Marvel movie, with the only possibilities being a change to his role in Morbius or something for Spider-Man: No Way Home (which we know currently isn't quite finished ahead of the world premiere next Monday).

The latter is certainly a possibility when we're anticipating a sixth member of that sinister cabal of villains, but Murphy's Multiverse reports that the additional photography is, in fact, for Morbius.

"While I have yet to hear Keaton’s name attached to Spider-Man: No Way Home, we can exclusively reveal that his work on his role in Morbius is still ongoing with just 7 weeks until release," the site reveals. "Though we don’t have details on whether Keaton was working on reshoots or additional photography, the work isn’t done quite yet as scenes with the character will be filmed next week."

It appears Keaton's role is being expanded on or changed in some way, perhaps in response to how things play out in Spider-Man: No Way Home. After all, it appears Morbius takes place on a world unrelated to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so if that's somehow being merged with Sony's Spider-Man Universe or this Adrian Toomes is a Variant, it will obviously need to be addressed.

The first trailer for Morbius revealed Toomes' return after menacing the wall-crawler in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and he appears to still be behind bars. How that leads to him crossing paths with the Living Vampire is hard to say, but perhaps it's leading to something much bigger down the line, eh?

Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in U.S. on December 17 and in the UK on December 15.

Interested to see how they explain all this. As much as I want this all connected it needs to make sense and not feel overly forced. We shall see.

@Gmoney84 - It’s Sony, they barely explain the core plot of these movies let alone the details of an interconnected multiverse lol

I bet they shove whatever else than can in there to cement their place in the MCU. Anyway as I’ve said many times I hope if anything this seemingly shared universe between the MCU and SMCU is that they connect Morbius to Blade somehow. Give me a recreation of Spiderman: The Animated Series with Spiderman trying to stop Blade from hunting down Morbius

@Ha1frican - good thing is it doesn’t count as MCU, cuz it’s a multiverse. So I still don’t count the old films. It’s a crossover

I’ve seen every MCU movie in the theater, and even paid to see both Venom movies. I’m skipping Morbius.

Almost nothing about the film appeals to me. It’s an Amy Pascal-produced Venom-verse movie about a third-tier Marvel character that’s being shoved into the MCU, starring an actor who I would pleasantly describe as having a punchable face.

After Venom: Let There Be Carnage I have no faith in this film being any good.

So from what I'm understanding with this who Sony Universe thing going on is that despite the movies existing in their own Earth, They are still affected by the events of Loki and the Multiverse. Morbius will use Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man as the backdrop with Tom Holland's villains will crossover. The characters won't understand what's going on but their worlds will briefly be affected allowing Sony to use some MCU Spider villains and allow the MCU to do what they are doing without the fear of the general audience being confused.
