New SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Concept Art Reveals Extended Scrapped Bridge Fight Scene

New Spider-Man: No Way Home concept art shows a scrapped fight sequence between Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus, and it would have been awesome to watch!

The return of Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man: No Way Home was a triumphant moment for Spider-Man fans to witness for sure, as Octavius wasted no time attacking the Alexander Hamilton Bridge after receving a new lease on his twisted life.

Upon Otto discovering the Peter Parker he was pursuing wasn't the variant from his universe, Green Goblin then makes his explosive entrance into the scene -- only for what could have been an awesome moment between the three to abruptly end back at the Sanctum Sanctorum.

While we may not know the reason why the scene was scrapped, we now have a mere glimpse of the utter chaos that was meant to follow after the Green Goblin made his entrance -- and it was expected to be destructive.

From Spider-Man: No Way Home - The Art of The Movie Book, Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus were expected to brawl it out between each other; further destroying the already broken down bridge.

You can see Tom Holland's Spider-Man swinging in the distance, attempting to save the bridge from collapsing, and break it up between the two foes.

We do not know why the two would have engaged at one another, but just like what Vulture says in the Morbius post-credits scene, "has to do with Spider-Man, I think."

With Spider-Man's identity now revealed, our friendly neighborhood web-slinger is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life as Peter Parker from the high stakes of being a superhero. When Peter asks for help from Doctor Strange, the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is a 2021 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, co-produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. It is the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and the 27th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Jon Watts and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. It stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man alongside Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Jamie Foxx, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Benedict Wong, Tony Revolori, Marisa Tomei, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire.

One article per page of the book I see…

I should just post an article with a scribd of the entire book.

Anarchy is alive and well

@WhatIfRickJames - The owners don’t screenshot all the pages at a time. If they did, then I, or anyone else would devote one whole article to all the unused concept art.

Yeah, but we never got to see Dafoe's sweet can in this one

Would it had been fun to see this action scene? Yes.

But, for the sake of the pacing, you can't really have to semi-long fight scenes back-to-back and dramatically it works better for Peter to face the Goblin for the first time at the apartment.

@FinnishDude - It could still have worked. If Peter and Otto battle the Goblin on the bridge and he escapes they could have played the mentally unstable angle. And it could have still been May begging Peter to help Osborne.
