Spider-Man: No Way Home was a very special movie in a lot of different ways, but the fact that it delivered something none of us ever expected to see on screen by uniting Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Men, just elevates the blockbuster to a whole new level.
Now the Sony Pictures/Marvel Studios threequel is available on Digital, we're taking a look back at the moments featuring Tobey and Andrew's Spidey Variant that quite simply blew our minds.

8. Science Bros
The intricacies of the Multiverse are many, but it doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility that these Variants all share the same brain and soul; they just exist in very different realities.
That was apparent during this scene in the laboratory with the Spider-Men putting their heads together to find a way to cure the villains. Seeing them standing side-by-side like this was surreal, and as much fun as it was to watch them swing into action together later in the movie, we can't help but appreciate Marvel Studios' decision to remind us just how intelligent this character is.
We know Tony Stark and Bruce Banner are the MCU's original "Science Bros," but we'd now argue that the three Peter Parkers have usurped their position following this standout moment.
7. Making Amends
The wall-crawler's battle with Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 became extremely personal, and there's no denying that Peter Parker made some errors while dealing with Max Dillon. Well, he gets to atone for past mistakes here and seemingly finds a semblance of forgiveness by making things right with the former Oscorp employee.
Equally as touching was Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man helping restore Sandman to his human form; it's just a shame Marvel Studios had to re-use footage from Spider-Man 3!
Ultimately, it was Peter's exchange with Doctor Octopus that really stole the show for us. Otto's descent into villainy was tragic, as was his decision to take his own life. In this scene, the two former friends turned foes got the perfect reunion and quite clearly made peace with what once happened.
6. Rooftop Advice
With the MCU's Spider-Man at his lowest ebb, his two Variants arrive to remind Peter of what Aunt May told him: "With great power, there must also come great responsibility."
While the teenager initially rejects their advice, the second he realises they've been through what he has, it's a turning point for Spidey. There are lots of ways these characters could have first met (an action scene, for example), but we'd argue this quieter exchange was the best possible choice.
We may have only got some vague hints here about what's been going on in the lives of the other two Spider-Men since we last saw them, but both Maguire and Garfield delivered two superb performances full of emotion. It's no wonder that fans are desperate to see the actors return (again).
5. Hanging Out
Spider-Man: No Way Home had a lot of story to cram in, but the fact that we got a good few minutes of these heroes just shooting the sh*t is a real treat. Whether it's discussing the one Peter's organic web-shooters or even the downsides of web-slinging, there's just so much amazing content here.
For many of you, we're sure that the Amazing Spidey helping out his predecessor with his back issues was a highlight, and, honestly, it's hard to disagree.
The MCU's Peter asking if his wrists are the only place his webs come from was unforgettable, though we'd be lying to say the trio discussing their respective villains didn't just manage to steal the show. It's just a shame this opportunity wasn't taken to mention a few baddies we didn't see.
4. Enter The Spider-Verse
There aren't many movie moments we can think of that made us visibly cheer in a theater, but the respective entrances of the Friendly Neighbourhood and Amazing Spider-Men are among them.
At this point in the movie, we're guessing you were also on tenterhooks waiting for Variant Peter Parkers to make an appearance. While it wasn't the flashiest of moments, the sight of them walking through the portals Ned created isn't something we're soon going to forget.
In hindsight, we do wish that Maguire's Peter had been suited up, but saving that for a little later in the movie was far from Spider-Man: No Way Home's worst decision. With the threequel now available on Digital platforms, you'd best believe we've been watching these scenes over and over...
3. Stabbed In The Back
No, we didn't take some perverse pleasure from seeing the Green Goblin attempt to kill his world's Spider-Man, but there's no denying it was fun to see Norman Osborn attempt to take his revenge. That's exactly the sort of sly move we'd expect from the Goblin, and this movie certainly sent our stress levels through the roof by making us think Maguire's Peter would bite the dust here.
The real highlight in this sequence, however, was Peter stepping in to stop his MCU counterpart from making a terrible mistake. He had every reason to stand back and watch Norman get what he deserves; after all, the villain tried to kill his aunt and girlfriend, and sent poor Harry down a dark path, too. Instead, he does the right thing and reminds us what makes Spider-Man a true hero.
We'd have liked to see a full-blown battle between this Spidey and the Goblin, but that's a minor niggle.
2. Saving MJ
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter was unable to save Gwen Stacy's life in that clocktower and was left broken-hearted. By failing to take note of Captain Stacy's warning, Spidey ended up losing Gwen after she became embroiled in his life as a superhero, and both paid the price.
Spider-Man: No Way Home gives that web-slinger the opportunity to make up for his greatest mistake by swinging into action to save MJ. By doing so, he ensures the MCU's Peter won't go through the pain he's suffered and perhaps finds the sort of redemption that can take him off the dark path he's been heading down since we last saw him swing into battle against The Rhino.
It's a scene packed with emotion and one that's only topped by something a tad more epic...
1. Swinging Into Action/Final Farewell
What a moment. Watching the movie back on Digital, it's a little hard to believe this sequence only lasts seconds because it's one that we watched in theaters with our jaws on the floor.
It's every bit as cool at home, but after that hilarious exchange about The Avengers that sees the heroes designate numbers to each other, the swing around the Statue of Liberty prior to them all striking a pose on its head is unbelievably spectacular. This is one of those cinematic moments that come once in a lifetime, and we could - and will - watch it on a loop!
And yes, we're including the final farewell between the three heroes here because it serves as a perfect goodbye and one we hope is followed up on down the line. That hug hit us right in the feels, and is every bit as special as seeing the Spider-Men swing into action together.
