SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Art Book Reveals More Comic-Accurate Green Goblin Designs

We've seen quite a few alternate designs for most of the villains that appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home at this stage, but this latest Green Goblin art might be the most comic-accurate yet.

At this stage, we figured we'd seen pretty much everything the new Spider-Man: No Way Home - The Art of the Movie book had to offer when it comes to alternate designs for the movie's various villains, but some more scrapped takes on the Green Goblin's armor have now been revealed (via The Direct).

We have already seen a few of these images in lower quality, but here we also get a look at some pretty out-there new costumes that were considered for the character at one point, most of which are far more comic-accurate than the one they settled on for the film.

Ultimately, Willem Dafoe's Norman Osborn simply ditched his mask and donned a torn-up hoodie for his return as Spider-Man's nemesis. As much as fans rejoiced in the Academy Award-nominee's performance, some were disappointed that he didn't change-up his wardrobe to a significant degree.

Check out the new designs at the link below, and let us know which one you prefer.

Dafoe has said that he'd be open to reprising the role down the line, but aside from some unsubstantiated rumors, we haven't had any solid updates on that front. If he does return, it'll most likely be in Avengers: Secret Wars, but we have a feeling his No Way Home role might have been a one-and-done.

"With Spider-Man's identity now revealed, our friendly neighborhood web-slinger is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life as Peter Parker from the high stakes of being a superhero. When Peter asks for help from Doctor Strange, the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man."

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now streaming on Disney+.

I actually like the Dark Elf design for Green Goblin. After being stranded with no Oscorp tech in another universe, its very logical that Norman would need to beef up his tech (after seeing what happened to Otto on the bridge). Then there should have been a sequence of him breaking into Damage Control, or at least a mention of a robbery at the DODC.

Easy.

In a just world these would be Norman and Harry Osborn...

Norman Osborn (Matt Smith)

Harry Osborn (Fionn Whitehead)

For realz I don’t think any of these look better than Defoes face with the goggles and hood. Dude looked more comic accurate using his natural crazy man smile.
I like how they change his teeth when he’s Norman compared to Goblin.

@slickrickdesigns - Right. His face is the best.

I just wish they made his skin green. Maybe not like The Hulk, but something sickly looking. A subtle green and he’d look like the dang Goblin, no mask needed.

@MG0019 - would’ve been cool if that was part of his condition when he psychologically turns into Goblin his face turns a shade of sickly green.

rewatched this last night. i wouldnt change anything with the goblin. dafoe knocked it out of the park with just his facial expressions. if/when there is a 616 Green goblin then i would want a mask... but for this movie... it was great

Ok, I think they should've gone with the second one with the recycled broken mask. It's really the best of both worlds, and shows how f@#$ed the goblins mind is, that he's willing to wear a broken mask with shards sticking out because it's "his face".

But still has dafoe's face exposed on the bottom for him to express himself.

It worked without a mask, but I would have loved to see one of these designs. Even goblin goggles with the hood up would work.
