SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME "More Fun Stuff" New Scenes Revealed...And They're A Tad Underwhelming - SPOILERS

With the extended version of Spider-Man: No Way Home swinging back into theaters, we have a breakdown of the major new scenes added to the threequel...and they're really nothing to get too excited about!

Spider-Man: No Way Home's extended cut, originally dubbed "The More Fun Stuff Version," swings into theaters tonight, but is it worth watching?

When news broke that a lengthier cut of the movie would return to theaters, there was a lot of excitement among fans. That was dulled somewhat by the realisation that Sony Pictures had deliberately withheld the threequel's deleted scenes from the Blu-ray, and the studio hasn't really been hyping Spider-Man: No Way Home's re-release anywhere near as much as expected.

Could this be why?

A breakdown of the additional scenes has been revealed on Reddit and they sound...well, like the sort of throwaway moments you'd usually find on a Blu-ray.

The movie reportedly opens with Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield greeting fans by Zoom, but the first major deleted scene comes when Harry Holland's cameo as a bicycle thief is restored. Spider-Man catches him before a Mysterio supporter douses the web-slinger in green paint, believing him to be in cahoots with the crook.

There are more high school scenes, including Peter being pressured into climbing the gym wall by Mr. Wilson. A tonne of interview footage with Betty Brant speaking to various teachers and students is also included, though we've actually seen most of that footage in the Daily Bugle TikTok account launched to promote Spider-Man: No Way Home last December.

The villains travelling to Happy's apartment in the elevator together - already revealed in promos - is there, as is a new scene with Matt Murdock defending Happy Hogan when he's being interrogated by the Department of Damage Control. He sees what's happening in his apartment, to which Matt tells him to stop sweating (prompting Happy to wonder how he knows that).

There is a lengthier version of the scene with the three Peter Parker Variants talking, but we don't anticipate anything major such as Maguire's Spidey battling the Green Goblin. There's also a new moment between the MCU's Peter and MJ when she pleads with her boyfriend to get Doctor Strange to make the world forget her too.

Finally, the post-credits scene shows Betty hosting a news segment right before graduation. Peter is shown from behind in one photo, but his face is distorted in another, better explaining what that spell means for him in this world.

We're sure there are other moments and lines of dialogue that haven't been noticed yet, but these iare clearly just some deleted scenes spliced throughout and not a director's cut or one that's really added anything new to the movie we wouldn't have seen on the Blu-ray.

Are you still returning to theaters to watch Spider-Man: No Way Home this weekend?

The high school scenes sound like a fun watch. The MJ scene seems like it would make an interesting What If... scenario.

@99OPTIMISTPRIME - Is this a failure if this does not make $2 Billion ? Sony would have two re release failures

I mean it was hard to believe they left anything really really good on the cutting floor, so this was basically expected. Not getting Tobey vs. Goblin was a big mistake though

This really isn't surprising. It wouldn't have made sense for there to be some amazing, game-changing content that they shot but decided not to include. Love the movie, but this reeked of cheap ploy. It's honestly pretty shameful that they left this stuff off the Blu-ray just to make the re-release more attractive. The trend of leaving content out of DVD's to make Blu-rays more appealing was already annoying, but to do the same to prop up a limited theatrical release is even more obnoxious because you don't give consumers the option to own the content. It's exclusive to this theatrical run until they release some extra special anniversary edition.

They are saving more deleted scenes for a third re release should this re release not make them $2 Billion
